  • It feels like it's been forever since I got around to talk about my PVC figure hobby, although taking a backseat to Dollfie Dream for the past few years; but quite a few figures that are slated to be released in the next few months have caught my attention recently. Sooner or later, I am going to have to swap out some of my older figures that are slowly becoming relics of the past with the newer generation, more vibrant and dare I say, sexier figures due to come out in the next few months.

For those of you who are not familiar with the procedure, the After Event is an event that usually takes place a month after the actual doll party and offer anyone who could not personally attend the doll party a chance to purchase the same items as if they were at the event, thus it is called the After Event. This time, popular items such as Dollfie Dream Aoko Aozaki 蒼崎青子 from the Type Moon visual novel Mahōtsukai no Yoru, Melty Du Granite メルティ・ド・グラニテ from the PSP game Shining Hearts and the SDGr Girl Creamy Mami and Yu Morisawa from the pioneer of Magical Girls show Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel 魔法の天使クリィミーマミ are all available for International Lottery!

  • Ahem, still recovering from the excitement from that is the Xenosaga III X Dollfie Dream official photo release ... and this time, it's Volks USA's turn for the exciting news. We are in within the 2 weeks period from Dolpa 28 in Tokyo and it's usually around this time when Volks USA update their site for new releases. Thankfully, there appears to be no major issue for bringing Melty and Aoko over to the states and all limited items including Magical Angel Creamy Mami will be available for USA lottery.

In general speaking, it's almost always too early to tell the true quality of a Dollfie Dream until you get one in your hands; but from these photos I am fairly certain that I am going to be happy to take Melty home with me.

  • As promised, news of the new limited Dollfie Dream scheduled to make their debut in Dolpa 28 are now out in the wild! As expected, the previously announced Aoko Aozaki 蒼崎青子 from the Type Moon visual novel Mahōtsukai no Yoru x Dollfie Dream collaboration during the Type Moon 10th anniversary event. I had previous anticipated Natsuki's sister Nanami to make the cut, but looks like that was replaced by someone who can pack more punch! The third entries from the Shining Hearts series, Melty メルティ! From the information available thus far, looks like Misaki handled the head design for both Aoko and Melty, previous work includes include Saber, Saber Lily, Yuki Morikawa, etc.

  • I have made no secret in the past that I have always been a fan of Tony Taka's work, so when I picked up the news back in March that Volks was getting ready to release Dollfie Dream Sakuya サクヤ (also known as Maxima Enfield in Shining Hearts) based on the PSP game Shining Blade as the 3rd Dollfie Dream based on the work of Tony Taka, I knew it in my heart that I have to pick her up even before the official photos were available! Based on the information from my contact who attended Dolpa 27, Rise and Cirno were actually sold out a little bit ahead Sakuya and based on unofficial counting, Volks actually made more Dollfie Dream available at the event compared to HTDP Kyoto 9, although it is unclear if that will translate into more DDs available for the After Event lottery. I knew I couldn't wait or leave it up to chances (since Sakuya is a "must have" DD for me, so I went ahead with the Auction route. Thanks to the lighting fast reaction from my deputy service, Sakuya has arrived from Japan within merely six days!
