  • I have made no secret in the past that I have always been a fan of Tony Taka's work, so when I picked up the news back in March that Volks was getting ready to release Dollfie Dream Sakuya サクヤ (also known as Maxima Enfield in Shining Hearts) based on the PSP game Shining Blade as the 3rd Dollfie Dream based on the work of Tony Taka, I knew it in my heart that I have to pick her up even before the official photos were available! Based on the information from my contact who attended Dolpa 27, Rise and Cirno were actually sold out a little bit ahead Sakuya and based on unofficial counting, Volks actually made more Dollfie Dream available at the event compared to HTDP Kyoto 9, although it is unclear if that will translate into more DDs available for the After Event lottery. I knew I couldn't wait or leave it up to chances (since Sakuya is a "must have" DD for me, so I went ahead with the Auction route. Thanks to the lighting fast reaction from my deputy service, Sakuya has arrived from Japan within merely six days!

  • I have been waiting for the release of this dollfie dream ever since I saw her character introduction during my playthrough for the Shining Hearts Dollfie Dream Airy and Neris, but I guess they saved the best for last; and Sakuya was only a guest character known as Maxima in Shining Hearts (to hide her true identity for obvious reasons), her true story actually begin in Shining Blade, so I guess that make sense in a way~

  • It's been quite some time since I last used the term "recent pre-order" but the fact that I have recently sold off a bunch of PVC scaled figures that no longer meet the requirement to stay in my collection has opened the opportunity for me to look into the open market to breath some new life into my scaled figure collection! And what better ways to kick off with a Tony Taka inspired ero figure? LOL.

  • Majority of my figures collection have always originated from either anime and games that I have enjoyed; and if for some odd chances that I came across a figure that managed to catch my attention and I knew nothing about it, then I would start to search fanatically for information related to the said character... Not a whole lot of PVC figures have caught my attention in the past months or so but since I have spent a little time playing Daiteikoku a few months back (I haven't quite finish the game yet but hoping to get back into it during the holiday season), this Retia Adolf or Lertih Adolf -Ultimate Idol- version has caught my attention. Retia is one of the main heroines you can go after in game and she is crazy strong once you have recruited her. She is said to be the greatest genius in the (Daiteikoku) universe — she dramatically revolutionized the Third Reich's politics, economics, inventions, and military power while cheering on her troops in the Ultimate Idol form (which I never quite got to see in game yet). She even ranked first, with 7902 votes, in Alicesoft's female popularity poll, can anyone else top that? I am really glad that I can finally see what the Ultimate Idol mode looks like :)

  • While majority of my otaku spending is being devoted to pamper my two most favorite Dollife Dream daughters such as DD Saber Lily and DD Kiriha Kuze in recent months, I do occasionally pick up some pvc figures if I find the character design are good enough. Two of such figures emerged from Wonder Festival Winter 2011, and coincidentally both figures are based on characters in recent PSP game from SEGA: Shining Hearts, and to top that off, both characters are designed by famous illustrator Tony Taka. Now, I don't think I need any excuse to say I have always been a Tony Taka fan but since most of his work were focused on the 2D art in the past, I haven't had the opportunity to load up on a lot of figures based on his design yet, except for Kotone Ousaka from Native of course!
