Posted on October 19, 2009 | 4 Comments | This post has 223 viewsI have always wanted to go back and do some vintage figure shoot (I guess at least some of you must be bored by the constant Dollfie posts, let's break it up with something different!), but the lack of proper equipment has prohibited me from doing so. Some of my earliest prepainted figure collection date back about 7 -9 years or so and the picking were slim back in those days. PVC figures were no where near as high quality as we see from Good Smile Company or Alter today. Instead, most of the above average quality figures were cold cast polystone, or just resin figures that you need to paint yourself. -

In response to Danny's call to submit new photos, I once again took out my digital camera and started snapping photos of my command center! -

My Ikea Detolf Dioder project

I finally got myself together to complete the Detolf Dioder project that I have been putting off for months. Unlike the current trend in the figurine collectors community, I have not been a huge fan of the Ikea Detolf due to it's inability to adjust shelf height, and therefore, inefficient use of the precious little space that I have in my room (notice the huge empty space above the figurines above the 2nd shelf?). However, I do have a Detolf in the little corner of my room where it's most suitable and I have finally decided to put the Ikea Dioder strip on it. -
End of April loots

Another box was supposed to have arrived, but due to my extreme fatigue in writing Feena's story, I was unable to hear the door bell, ala, I guess I will pick up Yami next week at the post office. -
Figure Collection Topic – Dust shield +1

The fact that I leave the bottom edge open for easy access has led to some figurines being covered in dust due to air draft from some of my computers. As anyone who has done failure mode analysis would tell you, prevention is always weighted more importantly than detection. Cleaning the dust after you see them is in no way as effective as preventing the dust from accumulating in the first place. It's also my believe that dust get attracted to object because of the charged ion in the air within indoor environment. Conventionally, you would use a brush to brush off the dust, but that alone could generate static charge on the surface that ended up attracting the dust again. Have you ever gotten the feeling why you can't quite brush the dust off? -
Chu x Chu Idol – Hiyori arc completed
Posted on March 15, 2009 | 9 Comments | This post has 2,562 viewsSo I finally completed the Hiyori arc last night, it was good... better than I thought it would be (I played too many dark eroge, a light hearted love story is a good change of pace). Now Chu x Chu is not a new game anymore, it was released back in 2007. It didn't catch my attention then, the only reason why I decided to play the game was because of the numerous reviews I came across on Hiyori Pixie figure by GSC. The pose is graceful, the facial expression is charming and the costume or lack thereof, plus the ability to cast off. I usually prefer figurine with long hair but she will do fine without it and make it up via other departments.
