Volks USA Customer Gallery – Dollfie Dream Family Portrait 2010 version

This time I picked my Dollfie Dream Daughters Grand Glorious Gathering Sixteen Daughters Version, from a few months ago. It's always a pleasure to see how the Volks USA staffs react to my photo. Someone once said, a photographer is an artist who draws with light, I personally find that a very profound statement. As a photo artist, I have more or less developed my own style and preferences for my Dollfie Dream Photography over the years. I am still very much working to improve my photography skills, hopefully I will keep getting better at it :D -

Posted on April 9, 2010 | 5 Comments | This post has 444 viewsJust two weeks ago I welcomed my Thirteenth Daughter Kiriha DD 紅瀬桐葉, I really didn't expect to adopt the Fourteenth Daughter so quickly after paying up for Rina and Yuki last month; but really good deal rarely shows up in Yahoo Japan Auction and as I explained before in my last post, the deal I got for Estel was just too good to pass up and on top of that I have always been thinking about adopting Estel to make up for missing out on her PVC figure when it was on sale last year. So here we are, after just welcoming my thirteenth daughter two weeks ago, my lovely loot inspection assistant Feena has once again joined us to introduce her youngest sister yet, Estel Freesia. -

I think I sealed the deal to adopt all of the Dollfie Dream that Volks licensed from August soft the moment I decided to adopt my thirteenth daughter Kiriha... because soon after I finished the paper work to bring her home, I suddenly came up with a very dangerous idea about doing a group photo based solely on the August girls (I call Feena, Estel, Erika and Kiriha as August Girls because they are all based on Visual Novel from August Soft, Brigther than Dawning Blue and Fortune Arterial respectively). Some of my regular visitors here probably have read about the summary story I have written for Estel last year [Estel Freesia's normal arc]. Overall, I have to say I have taken a liking in her but not necessarily strong enough at the time to adopt her Dollfie Dream form last year, but I have in various occasions thought about doing so. I have regretted over not picking up her Kotobukiya 1/8 scale figure when it was on sale last year, and I have been thinking about redeeming myself one of these days. I even picked up her priestess uniform and her casual dress already, preparing to have Feena cosplay as Estel for photo shoot... but that plan fell apart after I came up with that group photo idea... -

I waited for months and months without finding them again, and I was left with pondering why I didn't try harder when the chance was available. This past two months of 2010 has been especially meaningful to me, since quite a few of the items I missed out on has reappeared in front of me. I guess it was a coincident that Dollfie Fate and Dollfie Nanoha, one from Volks Japan, another one from Volks USA would ended up arriving on the same day, everything just worked out the way I wanted! The only problem was that the UPS driver didn't show up until late in the afternoon so I couldn't start the the inspection until after dinner. Hobby Search came through with a package of their own as well, let's take a look at them. -

To be absolutely honest here, it was not as easy as I had hoped. The biggest problem as it will remain, is that I don't have a Japanese credit card with a Japanese address... now Amazon Japan is quite far along with dealing with oversea customer and they even have options in their payment system to allow you to enter a separate billing address from the shipping address, so no problem there. -
