Remember it used to take days if not weeks before Volks would publish the detail spec of the upcoming Dollfie Dream to the web? Well, wait no more! With less than 24 hours, Volks has already released the detail webpage!

Besides the new faceup, new animetic eyes, new costume, new wig, there is also the optional hand with command seal

the Azoth sword and the pendant that started it all! I love it! To tell the truth, I was almost tempted to pre-order the the Azone Rin just to get my hands on the pendant, but there is absolutely no reason to now!

It is that time of the year again, with exactly one month to go before Dolpa 34, Volks has finally announced the new Dollfie Dream scheduled to release in the Tokyo event! As early as July this year, we have already received news that Volks has been preparing Shijou Takane from iDOLM@STER to join the ever growing list of character from the series!

In addition to Takane, after 6 years since the initial release, Rin Tohsaka from the ever popular Fate/Stay Night series will be making her second appearance in Dollfie Dream form! Based on the information available to-date, Rin Tohsaka ver. 2 will be based on her anime appearance in Unlimited Blade Works, new faceup, new animetic eyes, her pendant and dagger will be part of the default package!

Personally I prefer this new and younger flesher faceup more than the original

It’s around that time of the year again where Volks would announce their next Dollfie Dream collaboration project. After Hatsune Miku, Snow Miku it’s time for Kagamine Rin & Len (鏡音リン・レン), codenamed CV02 (where is my Luka?!)! Not much details has been released at the moment but it’s my guess that Rin/Len will be the next pre-order project. Speculation grows on what Volks will do for Len, he is shouta right right? My guess is that Len will sport a unibody but only time will tell.

Home Town Dolpa Kyoto 12 and DD Fest Limtied Dollfie Dream

Guess it’s been another couple of months since I had last updated this blog, but that’s a topic for another day. Today, Volks_dd has announced that DDS Mariko sensei has slated to make yet another return for Dolpa Festival (to be held some time in late July) in her Summer Festival version!

In addition to Mariko sensei, Volks_dd also announced the limited Dollfie Dream for HTDP Kyoto 12! In conjunction to the timely release of God Eater anime in July, Dollfie Dream アリサ・イリーニチナ・アミエーラ Alisa Illinichina Amiella will mark her return in a newly design TV version costume, it’s not yet clear if any changes in her faceup will take place.

On the other hand, キリカ・トワ・アルマ Kirika Towa Alma from the PS3 game Shining Resonance (character design by the one and only Tony Taka) will mark the 7th entries from the Shining Mulitverse to be converted into Dollfie Dream form. Kirika will be the first Dollfie Dream to sport the extra long elfin ears, please look forward to it! (inside joke)

Other than the Dollfie Dream announcement, big changes are also coming regarding how limited dollfie dream is handled during DP event, it is not yet clear to me exactly how it will work out but my understanding is that limited dollfie dream will no longer be distributed at the event, but those who attend the event will have their chance of winning increased over storefront or web lottery entry.

In continuation of my last post, apparently Dengeki Hobby has already released more photo of the upcoming Dolpa 33 release Dollfie Dream Sinon! According to the stats, the head is sculpted by Misaki, but I am still holding my judgement on the eyes at this point. On the other hand, I am already picking up chatters about how desirable is Sinon’s main arm in the anime PGM Ultima Ratio Hecate II! So don’t think for a moment it will be a walk in the park to pick her up!

As we approach the one month mark away from Dolpa 33, I have been half expecting Volks to drop the bomb on us any day now and sure enough, fresh from Volks’ own twitter stream, they have announced the next 2 Dollfie Dream to be released in Dolpa 33. First is the previously announced 3rd girl into the IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls, Mio Honda; along with her is the popular light novel turned anime Sword Art Online II Sinon!

Not much details is known at this point.

As technology advances, it’s become inevitable that 4K media started become available and since I have pretty much stopped taking static photo of my DD waifus, why not invest myself into producing the most advance of media? Behold, my first entry into the world of DDAV! This specially produced media contain both 4K and Blu-ray 3D content, suitable for viewing in both conventional 1080p 3D HDTV or the more advanced 4K Ultra HD. Obviously you can only view the 4K content on the 4K set.

Quantity is extremely limited due to the high cost in producing such advance media, one day sale only.

I’m pretty sure most of you figured out that this just another April’s Fool joke… but hey, at least I put some effort into it! I really haven’t had much time in recent months to manage this blog on a daily basis like I used to, alas, moving out on my own has eaten up most of my time, plus my continuous commitment to playing FFXIV on a daily basis (it was supposed to help me save money but I’m not sure if it is doing a good enough job atm >.>). So I thought, may be, just may be if I were to do something once in a while, that would be cool no? So this idea came about!

But hey, at least I finally managed to score over a 100 likes, may be I’ll do it again some day. Thanks for those of you who went along with the joke ^.~

New Home and New Beginning

I have been fighting off a cold on/off since the beginning of the year, and while I have somehow managed to keep it in check but it’s just not a great feeling being sick… Anyhow, taking the advantage of staying home today, I feel that I might as well write a blog post of my most recent activities.

Those of you who has been following my Facebook is probably aware of the fact that since the beginning of September 2014, I have officially become a homeowner and have moved in with my platoon worth of Dollfie Dream waifus to a new undisclosed location

And through out the past couple of months, I have been busy moving and decorating my new heaven, which played a fairly significant factor in the lack of update of this site.

So obviously a lot of these happened.

And believe it or not, those Amiami shipping boxes were very handy during the move!

And the making of the Wall of Le sigh (joke)

And 4k happened!

I had actually intended to write more but the cold meds is acting up and I think I should get some rest before continuing next time….

Dollfie Dream Snow Miku Pre-Order Project

It’s been a while since I have a chance to report any breaking news but just moments ago, after the conclusion of the Dollfie Dream X Macross Frontier project; Volks has announced their next Dollfie Dream pre-order project is going to be Snow Miku!

Edit: Based on what little that’s been made public, Volks USA is also set to participate in the project

There is an advance pre-order event happening at the Snow Miku 2015 and for us normal folks outside of Japan, the actual pre-order date is set to begin on Feburary 14th, a normal day for us otakus (sp.?)

On a completely unrelated note, I have just got around to do my first shoot on my first Miku, so there is definitely Miku in the air today; coincident? Perhaps, but my Rider sense is tingling again

But the main attraction today is Snow Miku after all, so here are the preview shots from Volks website~

Edit: In my own personal opinion, I prefer Snow Miku to regular Miku so this is a well played move for me. Miku Sisterly love? You can bet that’s coming!

Voted as the Best of the BESTs selection, DP32 will bring us a Christmas season we won’t soon forget! The absolutely gorgeous Kusugawa Sasara from To Hearts 2 and Melty from Shining Hearts will become the first batch of licensed Dollfie Dream to be reissued under the Best Selection election earlier this year to celebrate the 15th Dollfie Memorial Year!

When it comes to Dollfie Dream Dynamite, my most favorite is Sasara for sure! Here is one of my favorite pictures of her!

So far, it appears that Sasara White Gothic ver. will maintain her original face up, which I am sure many fans will appreciate. Speaking of Sasara and it will always remind me of my very special Adopt a Dollfie Dream Sasara contest I held back in 2010 when many fans were struggling to secure Sasara from Volks directly and I just felt I had to do the right thing and held a contest to allow contestants the opportunity to adopt a brand new Sasara at Volks’ price! And at the end, one lucky winner was able to bring home her very own Sasara!

Enough of that old story, now it’s time to reroll the dice! I am going to take the opportunity to add the new white gothic Sasara to my collection!

For those of us who cannot attend DP32, we will have to wait for the After Event lottery which is likely to be held some time after Christmas. The exact date has not been announced yet.
