Custom Printed Tony Taka Kotone Ousaka Duvet Cover [NSFW]

It’s been a while since I got a chance to update my blog since the PVC figure sale posts, first of all I would like to thank everyone who participated in the sale event. Now, those of you who are following me on other social media stream like twitter and tumblr probably knew that I started an ambitious room renovation project, over half of the furniture that were shown in my OTACOOL room post and Culture Japan TV (in cooperation with Dannychoo) are getting replaced (with most of the funding being drawn from the figure sale! That’s like killing 2 birds with 1 stone!).

This huge renovation effort actually started from a casual conversation with twitter comrades yunamon and cyberchaos when we were chatting about the subject of custom printed dakimakura; and before I knew it, I came upon an online shop that only does dakimakura, but also bed sheet and duvet cover! I got so excited after conversing with the shop owner and decided to print something I have always wanted! And if I were going to modernize my room with this fancy duvet cover, I better upgrade my furniture along with it… so that’s how it all started…. Today, I am going to share with you a sneak preview of my room renovation and my first custom printed project featuring Tony Taka’s illustration Kotone Ousaka! I don’t know how to explain it but I had an overwhelming desire to make my bed properly when I woke up this morning LOL.

I personally own this Kotone Ousaka figure and the Tony Taka Collect 1 which featured this illustration, but there is no other merchandise featuring this absolutely gorgeous illustration… so when I heard there is a way to print this large scale, it took only seconds to decide on this!

To give you a sense of scale… their standard duvet cover measures 135cm x 200cm, a little on the small side for North American dimensions but I was about to fit my comforter in it just fine.

And it looks absolutely huge compare to my lovely Saber Lily Dollfie! Guess what I am going to print next huh

Here is a closeup image, their printing resolution is 72 dpi but when blown up this massive scale their print quality is still absolutely top notch and can easily rival official printed product! And you can bet I had a pleasant dream last night! Originally, I was going to print a bed sheet but the shop owner told me that the Japanese standard bed sheet 145cm X 200cm doesn’t fit well with North American mattress (which is a true statement cause the North American spring mattresses are much thicker unless you are sleeping on foam mattress), he recommended me to print duvet cover instead which is an excellent idea!

Saber Lily Dollfie Dream And Nikon D7000

For the past year or so, I have been considering an upgrade to my existing Nikon D5000 since I believe I am at the point where I am approaching the limit on what I can do with the D5000. While my original intention was to upgrade to the next full frame release that was due to be announced this year (the rumored Nikon D800), but due to various reasons including Tohoku earthquake in March and the flooding in Thailand in July, the “rumored announcement” has been pushed back. After some careful consideration, I have concluded my best option right now was to acquire the readily available D7000 since I have already located a buyer to off load my D5000 to, the incremental cost to for upgrade from D5000 to D7000 wouldn’t be that much; coincidentally, Nikon has been running a rebate promotion with their line of popular DSLRs, which made the decision to upgrade that much easier.

Since I was in the mood to upgrade due the fact that I wasn’t interested in any of the Dollfie Dream that are being release in Dolpa 26, I decided to go all out and get the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8G ED AF-S Nikkor Wide Angle Zoom Lens and the Nikon R1 Wireless Close-Up Speedlight System as well~ Here I have Saber Lily Dollfie to help me introduce the new camera gear~

I am going to split the introduction into several posts~ first, let’s us take a look at the D7000~

The D7000 is considered as one of the best value cameras out there with the price tag, packing a brand new 16.2 MP sensor that is very similar to the one used in the Sony Alpha SLT-A55 and incredible low light performance that my D5000 can never achieve. I never regretted getting the D5000 when I did because it enabled to learn the capability and the limitation of the camera as my skill level improved. I now understand exactly why I want to upgrade and what I want to upgrade to.

There is an LCD display near the shutter that give me quick update on the status and current setting of the camera~ so I don’t have the hit the info button every time I want to check what setting the camera is at.

It took me a little time to get used to the new menu on the D7000 but once I got used to it, it’s definitely an enhancement from the D5000, not to mention the 39 points AF, which is vastly superior than what I had to work with before~

I am very delighted to be able to adjust the white balance and ISO setting on the fly without having to stumble thru the mention every time I want to make an adjustment.

But of course, the D7000 also have liveview as with most modern digital camera…. what is this I am looking at???

Me: Ohhh, it’s Saber Lily XD silly me~

Saber Lily: Otousannnnnn~ don’t just keep talking about the camera, what about me?

Me: Ahhh… yes yes, I was going to take a couple of photos with you and the new camera yes?

Saber Lily: Otousan~ when are you going to start using the new camera?

Me: Well, I was going to wait until the holiday season when I have enough time to study it further since I have been busy with work for the past couple of weeks, plus I haven’t finish releasing all the photos I have taken with the D5000 yet… like I haven’t even introduced Sakuya yet. I promise I will catch up in the Thanksgiving holiday weekend!

Saber Lily: ….

Me: Ahhhh, did you know I have just bought new dresses for you in the November Dress event? Those should arrive next week!

Saber Lily: Really?!! I love you~ otousan~ /kisses /hugs

Me: (Crisis averted =.=;)

All jokes aside… I really need to get on with doing post processing on some of the photos I have taken in the past few months… I hope I will be able to catch up within the next couple of week or so~ and of course, to formally introduce my youngest Dollfie Dream daughter Sakuya Izayoi~

Steins;Gate EP 23 Is Over 9000

It’s been a good deal of time since I was last motivated to blog about anime, but as some of you who follows my blog would know by now, for the past couple weeks I have been very much into Steins;Gate, quite possibly the only anime I have taken seriously this year. The series took a little while to pick up the pace but once it did, it has been a non-stop climax, plot twists and surprises. I sort of regret getting into the series a little late in the game but I am glad I decided to pick it up before it’s was over because I would have missed out on the excitement for waiting for the grand finale to arrive. From what I have seen so far, Steins;Gate is definitely one of best VN to Anime adaption in recent years and that’s saying a lot :3 Since we are almost near the end of the series, it would be a bit silly for me to go back and talk about every episode right now, so allow me to share some of the screen shots and my impression of episode 23: Open the Steins Gate, where everything is connected.

Suzuha of the Beta world line shows up in her perfected time machine, honestly think Suzuha looked more lovely in her new hairstyle~

I like how they tweaked the opening a little bit since we are nearing the climax and the fact that we arrived at the Beta worldline~

Also love how they flashed the metal upa here, I couldn’t believe the metal upa sequence was plot device they planned in episode 1, got to give it to them.

More Kurisu flashback scene <3 Since so much effort was put into saving Mayuri, I had thought may be there wasn’t a romantic relationship between Okabe and Kurisu after all, but I am so glad I was proven wrong in the last episode ^^; Kurisu is <3

Since the Beta timeline didn’t have dystopia, the time machine Suzuha came with can now travel back and forth through time.

The mystery about Kurisu having seen Okabe before they met in the press conference is finally solved, there has always been 2 Okabe in the Radio building after all!!!! But that means… spoiler Please Login or Register to read the rest of this content.

Prof. Nakabachi being Kurisu’s father was a little surprise but it actually make a lot of sense because why else would Kurisu came to Japan to start with? All that aside, what an A-hole he is! So sad to see Kurisu got stabbed >.>; I guess we now know who did it….

A D-mail from the future Okabe? Couldn’t quite made out the email address at first but I guess it means Steins Gate – El Psy Kongroo?

The metal upa sequence actually had much more significant meaning than I originally thought it would be, after all the plot twist I have gone throughout the series, I knew the metal upa couldn’t just gone missing without an explanation but what a plot device!

I never liked airhead type character but my respect for Mayuri gone up significantly after she pulled off the “Brightslap” on Okabe!

The video mail from the future Okabe instructing his younger self on how to create the new world line is just over the top! Plus, someone who devoted his life for a single cause is just admirable. *shed man tears*

I didn’t think they could out do episode 22 with all the story elements involved but they did it again with episode 23, the level of epic-ness is now OVER 9000!

I always thought this mysterious girl looked like Kurisu but I had no idea in the beginning the series put so much weight on her when I first started. Next Tuesday couldn’t come fast enough, El Psy Congroo~

From what I understand thus far, FUNimation has picked up the right for the series and let me say it right here, I will buy this series in Blu-ray!Similar Posts:

Saber Lily Dollfie Dream And Her New Tablet

It’s been a good while since I have blogged about anything besides Dollfie Dream but the recent announcement by HP that they were getting out of the hardware business sent shock wave through the world. In particular, the fact that they brought the recently released WebOS tablet Touchpad down to fire sale level… the $99 USD for the 16GB model has made headline just about every corner of the world …. has got me thinking about getting a tablet for my dollfie dream daughter so they could get online without climbing up to the computer and what not… it wasn’t exactly easy to acquire one to be honest but I have finally managed to snatch one for my most beloved and spoiled to the max+1 Saber Lily Dollfie Dream~

While I don’t really need a tablet per say but my Dollfie Dream daughters could certainly get on the web with it~ DD Saber Lily can write her blog post from it too~

The screen is quite reflective so it is somewhat difficult to get a good picture of it but since Touchpad is equipped with an IPS panel so the effective viewing angle is quite good~

I have always been a fan of HP calculator, especially the HP48GX but since they are getting out of the hardware business I guess I better take good care of it :s

Looks like Saber Lily is already surfing the web…. let’s see what she is reading… Volks’ website???

Me: Lily, what are you looking at?

Saber Lily: I want another sister, why don’t we bring Sakuya home, Otousan?

Dollfie Dream Name Card For Wolfheinrich.com

I talked about how I have been preparing for my trip back to Hong Kong in July in my last blog post. Since I will be meeting loads of online comrades for the first time, so I have to prepare a bunch of new name cards this year. Those of you who have good memory may remember I had a batch of name cards to pass around in Anime Expo last year, but since then, I have already moved my web domain, the old card is sadly not accurate anymore…

Not that I was unhappy with the quality of the card from the last supplier but I decided to shop around for a new supplier and see what inspiration I can draw from them. After looking through various options, I decided to go with Moo.com since they have a very interesting offer that would allow me to print one side of my name card with as many unique artworks as I want! That is an absolutely fantastic offer for me since I would have a terrible time to choose which Dollfie Dream to represent my blog (not that I wouldn’t pick my associate editor DD Saber Lily in a heartbeat but that would be so unfair to my other dear daughters such as Kiriha and Sasara). Their offering simply address my biggest concern and I can some variety in my name card too, that’s like killing two birds with one stone!

I browse around Moo’s website for unique ideas and one thing that caught my attention was QR code! We now live in a day and age that a good majority of the people (and growing) would have some sort of a smart phone, whether it is an iPhone, Android or Windows Phone equipped with a high resolution camera. And since roughly 20% of my traffic comes from a mobile device, I thought then it would be a good idea to add a QR code to my name card! It just make so much sense that’s not even funny. Since moo.com has some online resources available on their site so I was able to make a QR code for my blog within minutes~ And here is the result~

It took about a week for me to get the cards printed and mailed to me, which isn’t bad~

I ordered 200 cards since that’s where the price break is, they are definitely not cheap but they offer the kind of service and variety that I am looking for. To my surprise, a bonus business cards holder is also included in this shipment.

A total of seven different variety were printed; Lily, Kiriha and Sasara each got two personal cards and one of them is a mystery card lol….. that’s because I haven’t officially released that photo set yet!

For those of you who have been following my twitter feed, you might have noticed that I have talking about a brand new photo set for DD Saber Lily has been in the works in the past week, and I have just been officially done with that photo set… it will take some time for me to go through everything but here is a quick preview of what’s coming, a few of you who has registered for an account here might have seen this picture since last week ~

Good Smile Company Unlimited Blade Works Rin And Dollfie Dream Loots

Unlimited Blade Works has always been my favorite arc of the 3 scenarios from Fate/stay night, I guess part of it has to do with Emiya Shiro being extremely irritating from the Fate arc and I wasn’t exactly a big fan of Matou Sakura either; so kind of bumping Rin on top as my favorite heroine from the game, although Saber Lily would have unanimously be given the top spot if she were to appear in the game though ^^; Anyway, I believe I have always said that Rin Tohsaka doesn’t have as much merchandise love as the main heroine Saber and Saber Lily and it’s also one of the main reasons why I decided to enter Dolpa 21 lottery to adopt Rin as one of the first Dollfie Dream I directly acquire directly from Volks. When I heard they are going to have an Unlimited Blade Works movie, I was super excited because I know for sure Rin would now get some merchandise love she deserves so much!

Entering Rin Tohsaka, the Unlimited Blade Works version from Good Smile Company, one of the very few remaining PVC figures that I really wanted even though I have virtually stopped following the trend and moved on to the land of Dollfie Dream. This version of Rin is every bit of beautiful as you can expect and she is most definitely one of the best Rin PVC figure you will find in the market to-date.

One thing I would like to mention is the fact that the box itself is actually very pretty, I almost tempted to display Rin as she is in the box lol, so I have decided to film a little overview of this package instead~

Fortune Arterial BD Vol. 1-3 Kiriha Kuze Life Size Bonus Close Up View

It’s been a while since I have done any loot post and today just happen to be the right opportunity since the 3rd volume of the Fortune Arterial Bluray Edition box have just arrived from Amazon Japan today. And here I have my lovely daughter Dollfie Dream DD Kiriha to help me show case the 3 volumes of Bluray disc packages.

I have been cutting down on physical media in recent years because they just take up way too much space…. but I have made an exception for these bluray edition boxes since each volume would come with a bonus life size cloth of each of the Fortune Arterial heroines, which I have briefly mentioned in my last Fortune Arterial TV Anime synopsis. Today we are going to take a look at one of these life size cloth… of my favorite daughter Kiriha of course XD

Opened the package and we have 3 boxes, one of the Bluray disc itself, a CD drama disc and finally the bonus item, which is the real reason why I really bought these bluray edition boxes to begin with XD

Isn’t Kiriha just simply gorgeous in her slip , the fabric itself isn’t anything to write home about, it is meant to be a bonus item after all… since they have never released a dakimakura for Kiriha, this is basically the next best thing I can get for Kiriha :s

Anime Expo 2010 Loot Summary

Now that the Worldcup is finally over, I can get back on track to more regular posting . Hurray for Spain and Hurray for Pulpo Paul for the accurate prediction of the final result! I am starting have an idea of wanting a Octopus Plush for my Dollfie Dream daughters now XD. Anyway, back on topic, I know It’s been a few days since I came back from Anime Expo and I am finally gotten around to write the loot post, which, in all honesty, not very big ^^; However, there are a few note worthy items that might warrant a mention, so here we have Dollfie Dream DD娃娃紅瀬桐葉 to help me show case the loots from this LA trip

I didn’t spend as much time in the exhibit hall as I could, perhaps it was due to my Dollfie Dream loving habit and another reason was the fact that carrying all the camera gear, tripod etc kind of took my attention away from shopping. For those of you who are familiar with other other video magazine post Dengeki Moeho – Otona no Moeho Video Overview [NSFW], you can expect a similar treatment for the Tony Works and Mobile Suit Girl Art Book in the coming future.

I actually passed up the opportunity to buy the Tony Works Ciel Chronicle back at Acen 2010, not exactly a huge lost but who doesn’t want to have more Tony Works in their collection? I have always been fond of Mobile Suit Girl, as soon as I spotted it in the Kino store, it was an instant get for me. And when it comes down to the MediaMix Game Magzine, those big letter stating Fortune Arterial to be animated were enough to perk my interest.

Now, I don’t think I need much explanation for why I ended up getting this Anna bedsheet now do I? He is My Master + Yuri = Instant Win.

And I have already talked about Lightning Warrior Raidy II and Moero Downhill Night 2 in detail in my last post on Anime Expo 2010 JAST USA Bishoujo Game Panel [NSFW]. The Blaze Blue Calamity Trigger PS3 version was on sale at the Aksys store for $20 bucks so why not, plus the girls in Blaze Blue looks quite hot

The next two items didn’t technically come from Anime Expo but were loots from part of the trip when I visited Volks USA for the first time. And obviously, my most pampered daughter Kiriha got to try everything first hand and here she is ready for model for us~

And here is a close up shot on the glasses, a bit big but it’s actually the smaller size already…

I have always wanted a pair of DD Glasses but didn’t know how they would look since it’s not cheap, I ended up getting a pair anyway so I will keep it in mind for future possibilities.

End of June Mega Loots White Album PS3, Nikon 50mm f1.4G and Dell 11z more

I have been waiting for the White Album PS3 game for quite some time now, the premium edition I ordered a few months ago has finally arrived. I was hoping for DD Rina 緒方理奈 to arrive about the same time but since Volks International has announced that they have once again pushed back the delivery date for White Album DD to July 7th for international customer, I guess this will have to do. Along side with White Album PS3, there are some other exciting loots that arrived today, let’s take a look at them!

Here I have my loot inspection assistant Feena along with her sisters Kiriha, Rin and Estel to help me with loot inspection~ ( I have a feeling they are just having fun at the back instead of helping Feena out ^^;)

Regular visitors here probably already know that I am a huge Ogata Rina 緒方理奈 fan and that whole reason why I am interested in the White Album PS3 game to begin with is to play the Rina arc properly with full HD resolution since I wasn’t quite satisfy with graphic quality of the original game was released over 10 years ago.

Let’s take a look what’s inside the premium box~

Since I pre-order the game ahead of time, I also received the pre-order bonus here.

This PS3 Game introduced a new heroine named Sayoko Kisaragi along the original Ogata Rina and Morikawa Yuki.

Inside the box is the game, White Album original sound track and the White Album Illustration Book. And based on looking over the content inside the illustration book, I can tell the basic storyline of this game is going to be very close to the original game instead of the storyline of the White Album anime.

Next up is my new Dell Inspiron 11z, which is only meant to satisfy my computing need on the road since I gave my old notebook to my brother some time ago.

This Dell 11z is powered by the CULV line of duo core processor @1.3GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 800Mhz FSB.

The next item on the list is my new prime glass Nikon 50mm f/1.4G AF-S Nikkor Lens. I have been shooting pictures with the zoom glass for some time now on the 18-105mm and I have started to noticed the limitation on picture clarity with it. So I guess it’s about time to step up to the next level and get my first prime lens. Here are some comparison shots~

So far I am quite happy with the improved sharpness and color reproduction of the new glass :3

The last item, the Eye-Fi Pro X 2 8GB SDHC Class 6 is something I have been dreaming about for some time, some of you might have heard about it before. But for those of you who hasn’t, this little SD card can turn your ordinary camera into a Wi-Fi enable camera! It can transfer photo directly from your camera to your computer via a Wi-Fi hotspot, and in some selection model, it can even transfer directly to your laptop without a wireless router! I have long dream of having the ability to wirelessly transfer photo data from my camera (I even thought about making something similar to this myself at one point), especially useful for Dollfie Dream Photography. Why does it matter? Because I believe every camera position, especially for Dollfie Dream Photography, that every pose and corresponding head position is unique for any given frame, and therefore, not easily reproducible. Have you ever taken some photo of your DD and only realize you didn’t quite get the head positioned the way you wanted? This will solve that problem! Since you can monitor your progress on full screen as you go! I can see this becoming especially useful for my next outdoor photography session!

There are several versions of Eye-Fi SD cards, all of them have the option of uploading your photo to your selected photo sharing service as well, how convenient!

Another cool feature that come with this card is called the Endless Memory, the moment your photo is confirmed to be uploaded to your computer or photo sharing service, the file is automatically erased from your SD card; so you will never have to worry about running out of space on your SD card again! From all the review I have read so far indicate that this is the real deal, it works just the way they advertise it. For those of you who actually care about the way your photo turn out, this is something you should not overlook! Almost every major camera brand support this feature!

I came to realize the lack of auto-focus feature on the Nikon D5000 is seriously annoying when I try to shoot anything with variable focal lengths (like a video tour of my room), looking at the wallscrolls and dakimakura on one end of the room… and trying to zoom in my figure collection. After some serious consideration, I have finally decided to get myself a Sony Handycam, something I have been considering for some time (little did I know I ended up ordering on the 25th Anniversary of Sony Handycam!). I logged on to my SonyRewards website and clicked Redeem ….. 50k Sony Reward Points for the Sony HDR-CX150 16GB High Definition Handycam Camcorder, one of the entry level HD Camcorders. The folks at Sony Rewards did an amazing job in getting this new toy out to me in 2 days! And here I have my daughters introducing my new video gear! Now it’s time to film the video tour again in the long Memorial Day Weekend!

It turned out to be a lot smaller than I expected and very light weight!

Obviously, now that I have acquired this video camera huhuhuhu, first to try it out on my Dollfie Dream Daughters!

At first I was having trouble navigating, where is the up and down button? Then I realize… almost everything is touch screen now, duh…. you still need external button for many things but to navigate through the menu selection in the CX150, everything is touch screen.

There are external buttons for W and T which are for zooming in and out, the toggle button for movie and still photo and start/stop button as well.

And obviously, now that I have acquired a video camcorder, the one thing I absolutely must do …. is of course …. an upskirt video of my daughters! XD

Just kidding!

Anyway, now that I have acquired a real video camcorder, and the 5 minutes HD recording limitation on the D5000 is gone, it’s inevitable that I would have wanted to re-shoot the video footage of my room!
