  • I would like to spend a little time to reflect on all the pre-order activities that has been going on in the past month. As some of you are already aware of my recent interest in Dollfie Dream, I have been cutting back drastically on pre-order figures and various expenses, however, I have managed to balance out my pre-order list with some cancellation of my original pre-order.   • Seems like everyone has gone crazy with the Odaiba Gundam these past couple of days. Thanks to comrade wcloudx from Dannychoo.com, someone has recorded a video of the Gundam in action complete with steam action and sound effect! I wish I can see this in person, but my planned Japan trip doesn't happen until October, here is a wish that they changed their mind and keep it up for a little longer!

  • Overall, this is a fairly nice Asuka figure, nice facial expression (I like the deredere Asuka), the painting is good, just about everything is good except this figure can't stand straight! Like I have talked about in one of my earlier figure collection topic. This figure has tortmented me for ages and I have tried various different techniques to try keep her straight. I tried tipping her over, putting something under her base and even tried to glue her feet down to the base. None of those techniques worked. While I was working on my Detolf Dioder project earlier today (This Asuka has always been inside the Detolf), I finally decided to put an end to this problem. But none of the previous techniques had worked before, what could I possibly do? But I am an Engineer, I have to figure out a way around the problem! Finally, it came to me... I need to pin her down like what people do with their resin kits!

  • Today is another very productive day in the Memorial Day weekdend. I finally got myself together to complete the Detolf Dioder project that I have been putting off for months. Unlike the current trend in the figurine collectors community, I have not been a huge fan of the Ikea Detolf due to it's inability to adjust shelf height, and therefore, inefficient use of the precious little space that I have in my room (notice the huge empty space above the figurines above the 2nd shelf?). However, I do have a Detolf in the little corner of my room where it's most suitable and I have finally decided to put the Ikea Dioder strip on it.

Three boxes are up for inspection, the hobby search box has arrived a few days ago but I have put off the inspection until I finished Moonlight Cradle, plus the package yesterday that I picked up at the post office today and the package that arrived today.

    My list of pre-ordered figures is creeping up on me again, visiting various blog sites and keeping myself update on release info is not helping me at all, yup, not helping. First one is the Volks online store exclusive Fate T. Harlaown. I have been waiting for release info on this figure and a few days ago I found out it is going to be exclusive to Volks online store when I was updating my profile on Tsuki-board. I scambled to dig up my personal shopping service that I haven't used in a few years to get this. I was going to order the whole set of Hayate, Nanoha and Fate, but alas Hayate and Nanoha are already sold out even though the deadline for Hayate is April 15th.
