  • While I am pretty much a die hard Dollfie Dream fan, I have to admit that Azone has been producing better and better stuff in the past year or so. I was just browsing Hobby Search today and noticed that they have just opened reservation for [The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya] Suzumiya Haruhi! Now, I have always been fond of the long hair version of Haruhi and I think Azone really did a fine job on the head sculpt and really nailed facial expression this time.

  • As a figure collectors, I have collected many figures over the years; however, some of them, for a lack of better words, no longer fit into my current collection. I was getting ready to throw them away, but in light of the recent disaster happened in Japan, I thought perhaps I could put them up as a charity auction where all proceeds will be donated to Red Cross disaster relief efforts to help those affected by the earthquake in Japan and tsunami.

  • While majority of my otaku spending is being devoted to pamper my two most favorite Dollife Dream daughters such as DD Saber Lily and DD Kiriha Kuze in recent months, I do occasionally pick up some pvc figures if I find the character design are good enough. Two of such figures emerged from Wonder Festival Winter 2011, and coincidentally both figures are based on characters in recent PSP game from SEGA: Shining Hearts, and to top that off, both characters are designed by famous illustrator Tony Taka. Now, I don't think I need any excuse to say I have always been a Tony Taka fan but since most of his work were focused on the 2D art in the past, I haven't had the opportunity to load up on a lot of figures based on his design yet, except for Kotone Ousaka from Native of course!

  • Although I am much less of the PVC figure collector these days, actually I don't even allocate budget for PVC figures these days. However, there are still some notable exceptions, the upcoming Rin Tohsaka 1/7 Unlimited Blade Works version is one such exception. I have made no secret in the past that I have always been a Rin Tohsaka fan, more so than the original Saber. It has always bothered me that Saber got all the glory from being the main heroine of Fate/Stay Night and got all the merchandise treatment, while leaving the equally likable Rin Tohsaka in the uncomfortable position, lacking any major merchandising love... in fact, in my opinion, there hasn't been one single Rin Tohsaka PVC figure that's worthy to be her namesake! While I was extremely fortunate in a way that I was able to acquire her Dollfie Dream form to ensure she has a proper representation in my harem lineup; however, that is not to say that I won't try to acquire a proper representation in PVC form either. Since Unlimited Blade Works is my favorite arc of the original story, it just made the decision making process that much easier!

  • Wolfhinrich’s World First Anniversary

Like a blink of an eye really, one whole year has gone by and I have finally achieved one of the major milestone of any bloggers - hitting the first anniversary! I must thank you for all of your support, visits, clicks, comments and encouragement! Looking back when I first started blogging, my original goal was to introduce myself to the worldwide of Otaku that I - Wolfheinich exists here! I think I have mentioned in the past, I was very much like a closet otaku, I have little real life friends that share my interest, I have no way to share my joy of unpacking my new figures or do I have anyone to converse with how cute this 2D girl is or what not. What I desire most, is to seek out to like minded otaku who can share my interest, making new friends.

  • Well, it's still December 31st here where I live and I would like to wrap up this year by doing a photo shoot for the "just arrived" 1/4 Pre-painted Kos-Mos version 4 (Happy New Year to the folks in Eastern Hemisphere though!). I have always been a fan of Kos-Mos and the Xenosaga series, version 4 in particular is my favorite. Over the years, there had been rarely any good Kos-Mos figure, the Happinet version was fairly close but the expression seemed a bit too blank, the Alter 1/7 version was ok but the face sculpt really didn't deliver for me, but I think my favorite version up to this point is the Alter 1/6 Kos-Mos Swimsuit version. The facial expression was still a little bit off for my taste but that was the closest we got so far. It will probably take this brand new 1/4 Kos-Mos to dethrone the best sculpted Kos-Mos crown from Alter. This 1/4 Kos-Mos will stand up to 18 inches from the resting surface to the tip of the Gatling gun, so be prepared to free up some space! As usual with Gathering Pre-Painted resin, paint job is done very nicely, the sculpt is clean and well defined. It's pretty easy to put her together. As good as it looks though, this version I have ordered is not without flaws (which we will discuss later), but from the overall appearances and attention to details, this is still the best looking Kos-Mos figure I have to-date. So, without further ado, let's get started~
