  • While it's true that my focus hasn't been on PVC figures for some time, but Mecha Nurse Girl Nana is definitely one of those figures I wish to keep, buying a new one is out of the question as she has been long sold out ... and seeing the broken area is a moving joint, my only viable option is to pin it back together with a slight interference fit so the resulting wing will retain its ability to swing. Personally, I have never been real big about DIY, it's my strong believe that everyone has their true area of expertise and I should just focus on doing what I am good at and leave the rest to other who excel in their respective fields. Then there is situation like this where it's not exactly convenient to have someone else fix this up for me.... and considering it's been a while since I have done a Otaku Project post, this would be a perfect opportunity!

  • As one of the original five dollfie dream I have picked to adopt (Fate was eventually bumped to sixth due to Rin arriving first), there is little doubt that I have always liked Fate, whether it was in the original series, A's or StrikerS.... Although instinctively, I have always preferred her StrikerS form, for reason I don't think I need to elaborate here www. But up until most recently, I don't think I have ever been truly satisfied with any of the StrikerS Fate figure. Then about a few weeks ago, I looked up Freeing's Fate Bunny ver. review by my long time comrade Tier and my immediate reaction after reading his review was to get my hands on the figure.

  • It feels like it's been forever since I got around to talk about my PVC figure hobby, although taking a backseat to Dollfie Dream for the past few years; but quite a few figures that are slated to be released in the next few months have caught my attention recently. Sooner or later, I am going to have to swap out some of my older figures that are slowly becoming relics of the past with the newer generation, more vibrant and dare I say, sexier figures due to come out in the next few months.

  • For the past couple of years, my main focus has been concentrated the 1/3 scale doll figure manufactured by Volks, known as Dollfie Dream. However, there are quite a few instances that even I feel rather tempted to venture outside of my core position and try something new! It's been quite some time since I decided to add new girls to my harem but I was truly excited when I came across Kuroyukihime 黑雪姬 from Accel World, while the anime itself hasn't really gained widespread approval, but I was certainly intrigued by the main heroine Kuroyukihime. Perhaps there has been too much focus on "moe" oriented characters in recent years resulting in a drought of "traditional" bishoujo characters, at least in my opinion that is. There has been various merchandises like this Kuroyukihime PVC figure by Kotobukiya released based on her avatar form, and the one that caught my attention the most has got to be the 1/6 Kuroyukihime Pureneemo from Azone International.

Initially, I was hoping that Volks would release my beloved lab assistant, but it looks like Azone is beating them to the punch with the WF announcement; and I have since opted for an alternate route which I have yet to reveal due to my busy schedule. The first one is Megurine Luka Tony Taka Version by Max Factory and the 2nd one is Sakura Shinguji Nendoroid from Good Smile Company! While I have never been a vocaloid fan, but I have always kept my eyes opened for the one vocaloid Luka, and I am very glad to see the first "official" figure release is based on the work of Tony Taka, an artist that I have long admired.

  • Normally Wonder Festival isn't something I would keep track of or even follow closely in real time, however since I caught a glimpse of a Tony Taka inspired Megurine Luka in my google+ stream a few days ago, I decided that I want to see how this figure turns out. Now, while I have never been a Vocaloid fan per say, but I have always have taken an interest in Luka since her character is very much inline with my taste; it has been frustrating to see all these merchandises and figures for Miku but there has yet to be one decent figure of Luka!
