Home Town Dolpa Kyoto 9 Countdown Has Begun

After nearly a month without any exciting Dollfie Dream related news, Volks has finally update their front page to include the Guidebook sale date for Home Town Dolpa Kyoto 9!

If past experience is any indication for what will happen this time, we should be able to see the cellphone pics leak from the Volks VIP members exactly 7 days from now! Isn’t that exciting? Oh and before you forget, Volks has already lined up the February Dress Collection 2012 on the 11th just in case you are not interested in anything in Kyoto 9~ how thoughtful of them to have everything planned out huh ^.~

My earlier speculation suggested that Kyoto 9 is perhaps related to Sakura Taisen Dollfie Dream that was announced late last year but I have no evidence to support my claim at this point~Similar Posts:

Feburary Dress Event Collection 2012

A few days ago, Volks updated their website to introduce a new line of February Dress Event. Not a whole lot new offering from Tenshi no Koromo which is traditionally where I put most of my focus on, but quite a few dresses from La Personal Collection seem to be catering more toward the traditionally Dollfie Dream styling, so let’s take a look.

The event is scheduled to be held on February 11th Japan time, the exact timing hasn’t been announced but I would assume it to be 10 am Japan time.

Type Moon X Dollfie Dream Delivery Schedule Change

As we entered 2012, I am sure those of us who has placed an order during the pre-order period for the Type-Moon X Dollfie Dream Fate/Extra project are eagerly awaiting official shipping schedule announcement. The other day, Volks Japan finally updated their shipping schedule.

Those of us who placed our order within the first pre-order period can expect our Dollfie Dream to arrive between Feburary 25 to mid-March; however, the delivery schedule for the 2nd pre-order period has been pushed out to mid-May to June. Although no official announcement has been made for Volks USA yet, but I can only assume their delivery schedule will be impacted as well.

Custom Printed Tony Taka Kotone Ousaka Duvet Cover [NSFW]

It’s been a while since I got a chance to update my blog since the PVC figure sale posts, first of all I would like to thank everyone who participated in the sale event. Now, those of you who are following me on other social media stream like twitter and tumblr probably knew that I started an ambitious room renovation project, over half of the furniture that were shown in my OTACOOL room post and Culture Japan TV (in cooperation with Dannychoo) are getting replaced (with most of the funding being drawn from the figure sale! That’s like killing 2 birds with 1 stone!).

This huge renovation effort actually started from a casual conversation with twitter comrades yunamon and cyberchaos when we were chatting about the subject of custom printed dakimakura; and before I knew it, I came upon an online shop that only does dakimakura, but also bed sheet and duvet cover! I got so excited after conversing with the shop owner and decided to print something I have always wanted! And if I were going to modernize my room with this fancy duvet cover, I better upgrade my furniture along with it… so that’s how it all started…. Today, I am going to share with you a sneak preview of my room renovation and my first custom printed project featuring Tony Taka’s illustration Kotone Ousaka! I don’t know how to explain it but I had an overwhelming desire to make my bed properly when I woke up this morning LOL.

I personally own this Kotone Ousaka figure and the Tony Taka Collect 1 which featured this illustration, but there is no other merchandise featuring this absolutely gorgeous illustration… so when I heard there is a way to print this large scale, it took only seconds to decide on this!

To give you a sense of scale… their standard duvet cover measures 135cm x 200cm, a little on the small side for North American dimensions but I was about to fit my comforter in it just fine.

And it looks absolutely huge compare to my lovely Saber Lily Dollfie! Guess what I am going to print next huh

Here is a closeup image, their printing resolution is 72 dpi but when blown up this massive scale their print quality is still absolutely top notch and can easily rival official printed product! And you can bet I had a pleasant dream last night! Originally, I was going to print a bed sheet but the shop owner told me that the Japanese standard bed sheet 145cm X 200cm doesn’t fit well with North American mattress (which is a true statement cause the North American spring mattresses are much thicker unless you are sleeping on foam mattress), he recommended me to print duvet cover instead which is an excellent idea!

Happy New Year 2012 with Saber Lily Dollfie Dream

Happy New Year everyone, time has gone by so quickly this past year it almost felt like I was just doing the 2011 greeting not that long ago! Looking back this past year I think I have made quite a few decisions that I have been putting off for a while such as moving my blog to its own domain, and traveling back to Hong Kong with my lovely Saber Lily chan to meet Dollfie Dream comrades that I met online such as Alodia Gosiengfiao, ATakKhoo, Coffeebugg, Gordonator, Hololo, Stepswalker&Applepuff, TonyBSD, Winterknight, Yui and etc.

What could be better spending time with my most beloved and super multitalented Saber Lily (being my Dollfie Dream daughter, No. 1 wifu, site mascot, assistant editor, super model, etc.) with a bottle of Brut on the new year count down? If things go according to plan, I might even get lucky wwww…. Anyway, on behalf of myself and my entire family of Dollfie Dream girls, Lily chan is here to wish everyone to have a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Edit: Well the plan to get Lily chan drunk totally worked ~ extra treats for registered members of course~

In anticipation of the new daughters such as Saber Alter v2 and Saber Extra that are due to arrive in February and Sakura Shinguji later in the year; I have spent the majority of my year end holiday cleaning up and reorganizing my room and display area. Although the renovation is not yet complete but I have managed to clear out a lot of old stuff that I only kept for sentimental value, and even though the writing has been on the wall for some time now, but I have finally decided to start trimming out my old figure collection. When the full effect of this clean up effort is realized, I believe I would be set for the next couple of years ~

Interestingly enough, over the past year I noticed my taste in photography style has changed quite dramatically, majority of the photos I thought was good in 2010 now looking full of mistakes. I know I still have a lot to learn and improve and hopefully I will be able to take my level one step further in the coming year ~

For the past week or so I have been hard at work in preparing the next installment of the highly successful Peach Pai ぴ～ち☆パイ Temptation series~ It all started back in the first week of this month when I noticed Cool Cat Collection released their latest outfit through their website, those of you who are familiar with my habit, should know by now that I am a huge fan of their outfit collection such as their premier fashtion label Le chat de neige (more on that in a separate post). I wasted little time to place my order in hope that the outfit will arrive well ahead of Christmas to give me ample of time to compose this new photo shoot. And they certainly did not disappoint me, the outfit arrive about a week ago and just in time for my year end vacation start so I was able to focus my effort in this new photo set.

And thank you for everyone who took their time to visit my flickr stream, as Sasara Santa Lady was able to break into the top 50 of the Flickr Explore 500 on Dec. 19th and featured on the Explore front page as well!

But I simply can’t stop with just one picture…. so please allow me to present to you my latest work – Peach Pai ぴ～ち☆パイ Temptation series Part IV Sasara Kusugawa Santa Lady version.

I have been thinking about acquiring a sexy Santa Lady outfit for the longest time, but I just couldn’t find anything the fit my requirement or it was too expensive :<, and when Cool Cat Collection finally released this outfit earlier this month, I knew I had to get it because it’s exactly what I have been looking for! And Sasara chan could certainly use a new dress by now~

And just right after we got started, Sasara has already got down to business to show us what we want!

December has indeed been a busy month so far, so much that I completely lost track of Dolpa 26 that was held yesterday in Japan! Fortunately, Volks USA’s limited items lottery entry begins today so for those of you who are interested in Dolpa 26 limited items may begin to enter the draw today!

While I am not really interested in any of the limited Dollfie Dream items this time, I will have to say that the SDGrG Nono Winter Smile Version has got to be the best looking limited item this time, that along with SD16G Ami Ayase of course; however, neither SD girls are actually within my target scope so I am not going to enter for either of them myself.

Shining Hearts Anime Got Green-Lit for Spring 2012

The month of December has proven to be very busy time this year, I had prepared materials for several blog posts but I never got around to work on any of them! I am so far behind on blog posts I want to write, Dollfie Dream photos that’s been waiting for post processing etc… that’s not even funny anymore…. here is hope that I can some how catch up on everything during my year end Christmas holiday. Anyway, I am sure a good number of you might have heard this by now as I have already blogged about the news of Shining Hearts Anime in my tumblr post yesterday. For those of you who are familiar with my habit should know, I care deeply about the “characters” Dollfie Dream I have chosen to “adopt” into my Dollfie Dream family. While I don’t generally get too excited about new anime, but an anime that is connected to my Dollfie Dream daughters is definitely a must watch for me!

While I have already spent plenty of time to play the Shining Hearts PSP game before I chose to adopt Airy and Neris, there is nothing like seeing another anime based on Tony Taka style characters, since I am pretty much a Tony Taka fanboy. One interesting note I should point out is that although Airy, Neris and Amil were labeled as sisters, you will never see all of them together (other than the initial screen) or interact with each other since each main heroines paths are completely separate (although the game itself is almost certainly identical).

It shall be interesting to see how the anime will play out the roles of the three main heroines since the game story doesn’t have any of that!

Here is the hope that the Shining Hearts anime will lead to more Dollfie Dream based on the Shining universe (actually, I already heard some rumor about that, fufufufu)

Or perhaps the upcoming title Shining Blade? Which will bring us a nice cross over from multiple Shining universe!

Here is the detail story I have obtained from ANN

The Bushiroad Strategic Presentation 2011 event announced on Wednesday that a television anime adaptation of Sega’s Shining Hearts fantasy role-playing game has been green-lit for next spring. Production I.G will animate the project.

The anime includes voice cast members from the PSP game, although three sisters will be voiced by different actresses, instead of by one actress (Kanae Itō) as in the game:
Hiroshi Kamiya as Rick
Kanae Itō as Amil
Mai Aizawa as Neris
Shiori Mikami as Airy

But for now, allow me to share some of the Tony Taka artwork I have collected on Shining Hearts :3

I was a little sad to find out that there was no way to get a Kaguya or Maxima ending in the Shining Hearts game (For those of you who are not familiar with the story, I will try to refrain myself from spoiling the story anymore than I have here.)

I have be absolutely honest here that the story of Shining Hearts isn’t necessarily ground breaking or anything like that, although it does have its own twist and turn…. just who is the mysterious sexy looking girl called Maxima hmmmmm (hahahaha), it’s a fairly typical fantasy style PRG setting… but if anything else, a chance to see another anime based on Tony Taka character is rewarding enough for me!Similar Posts:

Sakuya Izayoi Dollfie Dream’s Arrival

It’s been well over 3 months since Dollfie Dream DD Sakuya arrive at my home from HTDP Kobe After Event lottery … those of you who who read my blog after the Kobe doll party announcement probably remembered that I didn’t plan on adopting DD Sakuya at all, courtesy of Volks’ poor presentation of their Dollfie Dream (as usual), luckily I was able to catch one of the owner’s pictures with a Miruya wig before the after event lottery and that was enough to convince me that I must bring DD Sakuya home somehow.

I didn’t plan to wait this long before introducing DD Sakuya, but somehow I got pre-occupied with other tasks and I just couldn’t get to it. However, the fact that I took this long before introducing Sakuya doesn’t mean she isn’t important to me! On the contrary, I actually believe Sakuya is the most beautiful dollfie dream released “this year”!

Being one of the first two dollfie dream to come standard with DD III body, I was quite impressed with Sakuya’s ability to strike various poses and being about to stand on her own without a stand. However, I have came across a few people where they inadvertently broke some of the leg joints. Upon testing the joints myself, I have concluded that while the DD III has a much greater freedom of motion but since the leg joints on the DD III are much tighter than that of the DD II; and therefore, it is possible to bend the joints the wrong way (due to the improved degrees of motion) and cause permanent damage to the skeleton pieces (it’s just plastic after all). My conclusion is that while DD III is indeed superior than DD II in terms of pose-ability, however, one must be very careful when handling the leg joints on the DD III, even more so than when handling DD II.

Sakuya has such a beautiful face when you look close up to her, I seriously don’t know how Volks can possibly screw up her introduction pictures, they look nothing like she is now! It’s also very convenient to be able to bend the arm without having to pull out the secret joint.

While Sakuya came with a short wig, and I was never a fan of short wig in general; so I decided to get the same Miruya wig that my friend did. While they are located in Japan, they would gladly accept oversea order, which is a big plus since they have a very nice collection of wigs that are suitable for DD.

Soon after Sakuya arrived in August, I actually took her out to Chinatown for a photo shoot with twitter friends Tsunamidelta, Faustband and Anonymous_object, more on that in a later post ~ Here is a shot taken when we took a break at the nearby restaurant.

I guess that fact that I have delayed Sakuya’s introduction post by so long, she got to try out the my newly acquired Nikon D7000 first XD

That’s it for now, I really wanted to get the introduction of Sakuya out there before the Thanksgiving holiday end, which I am just about done. Hopefully I would have more time to do more photo shoot in the upcoming Christmas holiday ~Similar Posts:
