PVC Figure Activities Spring 2013

It feels like it’s been forever since I got around to talk about my PVC figure hobby (my work schedule has severely limiting my blogging time) , although taking a backseat to Dollfie Dream for the past few years; but quite a few figures that are slated to be released in the next few months have caught my attention recently.  Sooner or later, I am going to have to swap out some of my older figures that are slowly becoming relics of the past with the newer generation, more vibrant and dare I say, sexier figures due to come out in the next few months.

I am sure most of us have seen this Accel World Kuroyukihime ~Death by Embracing teaser in Wonfes recently, what we didn’t know is that Max Factory has pulled one of the best trick out of the bag and allow Kuroyukihime to be displayed separately from her avatar form (like a castoff in a way), the Black King.  Make no mistake about it, Accel World has always played up to Kuroyukihime’s sex appeal (even with her rather modest chest); but as I explained it in the past, Kuroyukihime’s demeanor has more than made up for what she lacks physically.

One of my most favorite character out of Shining Blade, beside my waifu Maxima Sakuya has got to be Altina Mel Sylphis.  She is the first heroine you got to team up with in the game and like the past few Shining games, somehow it always happened at the beach for whatever reason… She is a bit of a tsundere in game but it’s ok because there is already Sakuya to balance her out.  From a character design standpoint, it’s difficult to go wrong with Tony Taka’s handy work and Altina is no exception, while I personally would have preferred to see Alter to release her figure; but I will have to go with what I can for now.

Continuing with the tidal wave of Tony Taka’s figure is Misty the Sea Pirate from Shining Blade and Shining Heart.  While Misty never did show up in the anime adaption of Shining Hearts, and she only really played a minor role in game, though a bit more than Maxima; she was among one of five Lorelei (Songstress) that can cast buff on the party.  Originally I wasn’t too wild about Misty, but something about this figure really speaks to me, if you know what I mean?

If I haven’t said it before, I will say it now; there will never be enough Tony Taka inspired figures!  For the past year or so, Alphamax has been producing one after another very erotic and sexy figure via this Skytube line of figure, including Saeki Ai from Fault!! Coincidentally since Fault!! S’s ova New Rival just came out last month, the timing of this Kamiwazumi Maya figure couldn’t be any better!

Speaking of sex figures though, another very famous brand Native has just collaborated with doujin artist 鬼月あるちゅ(Kizuki Aruchu), famous for his Monster Hunter doujinshi with the UDON-YA circle, to produce this gamer girl figure.   Native first came to my attention with their collaboration figure with none other than Tony Taka for his Kotone Ousaka, which is still one of my favorites.  However, for the past year or two, Native hasn’t been working with Tony and I haven’t felt compelled to go through the trouble to pre-order their figures.  While I am not exactly positive about the look of this figure but I am determined to give Native a shot again.

I have initially dismissed the idea of going for this Fate Testarossa Swimsuit ver. by Gift, but after taking a closer look at her in various photos in my facebook stream; I was compelled to noticed that Gift has done a fantastic job of capturing that innocent look on Fate’s face like no other has ever achieved before!  Even with my bias preferences towards well endowed figures, I have to admit this is an incredible representation of Fate.

I have always preferred Saber with ponytail, especially the along with the Type-Moon 10 anniversary costume.  Initially only available as A prize during the Type-Moon 10th anniversary event, this Saber Dress Code version figure is finally coming to the rest of the world through normal channel and from Alter no less!

And last but not least, it’s another Armor Girls Project from Bandai!  This time it’s the Wing Gundam Zero Endless Waltz version!  Having purchased the Wing Gundam Zero Kai version, I was already in the process of assembling my own Endless Waltz version by acquiring an Robot Tamashii Wing Gundam Zero Endless Waltz after seeing one of my friend showing off his custom work.  Apparently, Bandai has caught wind of that movement and decided to issue one themselves, but at least they are shipping with few extra parts like the swirling wind.
