Still in the midst of unpacking from my Hong Kong trip! It was indeed a great vacation, despite the heat and humidity, it was a great experience to take Saber Lily Dollfie Dream with me on a vacation and to finally meet so many of the DD parents I met over the years. Since the entire trip span over a week and I have taken hundreds of photos; so I have decided to break them up into several segments. Since I have already talked about the Dollism Plus 6 event on a separate post, I am going to start documenting my experience and some of the local food I have tasted during my stay in Hong Kong!
And before I get down to the details, I have got to mention the fact that I got into a little hiccup with the security check point in US while carrying Lily on board with me; apparently it was either due to the fact that the x-ray scanner being unable to scan through the incredible material that made up the peach pai or just simply out of curiosity… The airport security people had to search through my carry on luggage including Lily right on the spot… fortunately, there is nothing illegal about bringing my Dollfie Dream daughter with me on board so we were able to pass through without too much trouble ^^;
Here is a shot taken when I was on board the airplane ~ I was very fortunate that the seat adjacent to me was empty so there was a little bit more room to stretch my legs so I was able to a few naps here and there before I arrive at Hong Kong.
After a long flight of 14.5 hours, I was finally able to arrive at my destination, the Hong Kong International Airport; here is a shot taken of the model of the airport when I was waiting for the transport bus to arrive.
Here is a shot taken during the bus ride, it took about an hour to get to my hotel.
Here is a shot taken when we were passing through the famous tourist district Tsim Sha Tsui, often abbreviated as TST.
And of course, the first thing to do after I got into my hotel room was to make sure Lily is safe and sound after the long flight.
Since I have already arranged to meet with Twitter friends TonyBSD, Mk_is_here, Kctsang and darkmoming; we went out for a quick dinner in the nearby Metropolis Mall, it was literally attached to the hotel I was staying in.
After the dinner, everyone was very anxious to meet Lily they heard so much about, so we went back up to my hotel room…. obviously, Lily is not shy to greet them either
But after the long flight and long day, I was ready to get some sleep ^^;
In the next morning, I woke up very early so I head down the main dinning area of the hotel to have a taste of their breakfast buffet~
There were lots of variety of breakfast items available there and obviously I had to try them all! Scramble egg, waffle, various sausages, ham, slices of roast beef, beacon and roasted potatoes.
Here is an omelet that was made on the spot.
Besides the western food, there are bunch of Chinese food as well! Shao-mai, Har gow, xiaolongbao and Lo mai gai, various types of dim sum and their definition can be found in wikipedia
And they also had some congee with youtiao, so I had to try them as well~ After breakfast, it was still too early to head out to Mong Kok so I went out to take some photo around the hotel a bit.
Right in front of my is the Hong Kong Coliseum
Look to my left, I could see part of Victoria harbor, if it wasn’t so foggy =/
And to my right is the Hung Hom MTR station, which is only about 1 minute walk away from me.
And here is the hotel I stayed in~
By the time I got out to Sino Center in Mong Kok around 10:30am….
Most of the shops were still closed XD so I had little choice but to wait for my long time friend to come pick me up for lunch XD
It was a rather crowded place and their food is very good too!
The crossing the bridge noodle had very good texture! Will definitely go there again next time!
And for dinner we went to a rather famous place called Mui Kee Cookfood Stall, where they serve many local specific food~
Very yummy indeed~!
Don’t know what this type of shell fish is called but it was very tasty!
And for my 2nd day there, I decided to venture outside of the hotel (woke up very early again) to look for food and noticed their 7-11 has some very interesting microwave-able instant food available.
Had no idea they would had this in the store so decided to give them a try.
Had the food warmed up in the store and bought them back to share with Lily ~
The fried rice was better than expected~
And a bowl of Imitation Shark Fin Soup, also known as 碗仔翅, which is also rather tasty as well.
Since I had some personal business to attend to in Cheung Sha Wan government building, I headed out there soon after breakfast.
And some light nom in fastfood place called Yoshinoya after the business was done…
Met up with my long time friend again and we went to a place called Shanghai Min for their famous xiaolongbao
And it was well worth the trip! Their xiaolongbao was most definitely one of the best I have ever tasted! It was filled with juice inside but it didn’t break apart when I picked it up with chopsticks! Another notable thing about this servers here, they let the xiaolongbao rested for a while and when it reached my table, it was just the right temperature for consumption instead of being too hot, very good indeed!
And here is a special one, full of conpoy and crab roe! Very tasty indeed!
Later on that day, we went to a Japanese Style buffet, also known as 放題 in Causeway Bay. All the beer you can drink and food you can eat!
It was mostly snacks that goes well with beer, but they were quite good though~
After all that drinking and eating, I was ready to get some sleep lol.
Before I forget, let me make it clear that I didn’t just go out and had fun with my friends and forgot about bringing something for Lily, here I bought some of my childhood favorite snacks winner sausage for her ^.^b
That’s it for now on the first 2 days of my trip, there will be more food coverage and special photo session with TonyBSD’s Mashiro and my Lily in the coming days~ Please look forward to them~

Yikes… maybe they just want to see Saber Lily ;P but luckily they let you take her on board despite the inconvenience… ^^;
is that deep fried eggplant in the first food picture? XD
I will never take peach pai with me onboard a plane again, too risky. Yeah, it was eggplant I think
Nice to see some of the pics
Also nice to se that Lily made the journey without complaining.
BTW ……….. How did she travel. In a normal Dollfie bag was it just a normal carry on bag.
I only carrying the head wig and peach pai and packed them in a canister with me, the body was checked in.
Should have eaten before reading.I’m hungry now.^^;
Glad you made it there safely.
It was a fun trip indeed, and I plan to do that again next year… I hope?
