For the past couple of days, I have been working non-stop trying to revamp this 2 years old blog site and breath some new life into it. After many trials and errors, scratching head and kicking myself for 3 days straight, I have finally got this site to look exactly the way I wanted it. To be honest here, I was never truly happy with the way the site was layout for the past 2 years, I always had too much empty space around various elements, the side bar was never optimized thus causing the blogroll to have gone completely out of sight unless I scroll all the way down to the bottom…. but no more…. after 2 years, it was time to say no to the ridiculous layout that I had…. Please allow me to present you to the completely rebuilt Wolfheinrich’s World, powered by the Arras Theme, that will load faster than it ever did (not that it ever load fast to begin with) but with more features than it ever had before!
As you can see here, I have migrated to a 3 columns layout which is optimized for wider screen resolution, with widget areas on both sides of the main container. This new setup will enable me to give back some love to my blogroll mates which had gotten lost in inefficient sidebar for the past couple of months or so.
In addition, the new layout also allow me to group posts together by various post types and taxonomies such as categories and post tags~
It has always troubled me greatly that majority of my content were buried in the bottom of the hay stack in the past, but not anymore!
With this, I can easily group my contents together and rotate them on a regular basis and that would allow my visitors to discover different types of contents that might interest them~
Here is the Featured Stories area~
And here is the latest headlines area~
Got to love that flexibility to do what I want, just the way I want them!
In addition, with the expanded layout, I have also gained some more usable real estate to allow me to feature a few RSS feeds of my fellow bloggers! Shown here are Blue Blue Wave, Radiant Dreamer, H. Masion and Alafista.com, something I plan to rotate on a semi-regular basis. If you are interested in having your feed featured here, please feel free to drop me a comment.
And yeah, since I have been working on the blog migration non-stop for the past couple of days, I haven’t had the time to go over all the Figure Giveaway Contest entries I introduced in my blog anniversary post yet and for that reason, I am going to extend the entry period for another week. And if you haven’t submitted your entry, now it’s the time to do it! For rules and details, please refer to my blog anniversary post!

Really like the new page… So clean and easy to navigate!
Speaking of which, I properly should add you to my blogroll if I haven’t already done so!
That’s a pretty impressive and comprehensive site revamp! Do quite like this new look which has more convenient and visible browsing elements and categories, makes it easier to move about your blog. Nice work!
It was long overdue. Many of the standard wordpress theme wouldn’t support the level of customization that this theme can do. There are several other layout options that just absolutely blow my mind away. I always knew that browsing through my blog is a pain in the rear end but I just didn’t know how to improve it. This theme was originally a premium theme but the author recently decided to give it away and sell the child theme instead. I think it’s a great move because I ended up sending some donation back to him out of shear gratitude.
Cool, I like the new layout ^^
Thanks buddy~ I am quite very happy with it too! Where have you been these days? Haven’t seen you on twitter for a while!
I think the new layout is perfect for your DD photos XD
Thanks buddy, I am very happy with this new layout!
I do quite like the fresh clean new layout, much easier to find things and see all the recent posts.
Aye, I was never happy with my old layout, but I couldn’t find the proper theme for me to make things work the way I wanted. Finally the break through came around the end of the Jan where I finally made the painful switch. I am so happy that I did it though.
