After 10 episodes of Fortune Arterial, we are finally closing into the climax of the story. It has taken a lot longer than I would like to get to this point but since the original story is based on a multiple paths visual novel, it was always bound to be difficult to tell this story in one pass. I reckon the script writer has manage to do a pretty decent job though! In my last blog post, I mentioned that the story has indeed been altered from the original story line to give some of us who are already familiar with the story a nice surprise, while it is still taking elements from different paths of the novel, it is blending together quite well in my opinion. The last and latest episodes were both taking elements from what is commonly referred to the “Normal” route of the visual novel, where the ending is not exactly ideal. Since we are so close to the end of the story now, I am in fact prepared to let loose some of the major secrets this time just in case any of you couldn’t wait until next week! Anyway, allow me to switch over to the memorial scenes sharing again~
More under the cut~
Erika woken up from her bed not realizing what she had done the night before….
For a moment, she thought she was able to overcome her vampire impulse and was actually in a pretty good mood…
But as soon as Kohei arrived at the student council, it struck her that the most unthinkable had already happened….
While Erika pretended she was ok…
But, is she really?
Meanwhile…
both Yuki sisters noticed Erika and Kohei were both disappeared from the group the night before and began questioning their relationship
On the other hand…
Erika could no longer satisfy her vampire instinct by mere blood packs
After having a taste of Kohei’s blood…
Knowing that Erika could no longer contain herself, the student council members are taking steps to separate Kohei and Erika.
And while Kohei was feeling Erika’s absence..
Erika was struggling to suppress her desire for Kohei’s blood. In the original visual novel, these scenes where Erika struggled to maintain her sanity were a lot more common, and you can easily feel the hardship Erika was facing throughout the game; but this TV anime isn’t exactly a multi-path visual novel so we are really cutting down to the wire before we get to this point.
In the mean time, a mysterious visitor came to Erika….
Which is none other than Kuze Kiriha……
Who came to order Erika to return to the Sendo Manor if she were not to turn Kohei into her servant…..
Under the threat of being force to return to the Sendo Manor, Erika was still not willing to back down..
Remember I mentioned some time ago about Kiriha’s background, well at least they spend a minute or two on it, though it is not nearly as epic as if you were playing the “Kiriha” arc in game~
The fact that Kiriha had been locked in this hide and seek game for the past 250 years or so….
Every time she successfully found Kaya, her memories were erased just to start the game over… however, as a servant, she could not disobey Kaya no matter how silly the game has become.
You can almost see the disappointment in Kohei’s face once he found out Erika was not in the student council room yet again…
But in fact she was merely hiding away from Kohei…
Because it would be all over if Erika were to see Kohei in her current state… Now, some of you might wonder why, so if you don’t mind getting a little ahead of the story, feel free to click on the spoiler~
So, let me start off by saying that the “Sendo” family was in fact not indigenous on this island and Kaya was in fact not the first vampire in this island either; she in fact had a father, notice I said “had” because he was no longer alive. How could a vampire die you ask since they do not age? Well, I can’t explain it yet but I can tell you, based on the original novel, Kohei is carrying on legacy of Kaya’s father. It was also Kaya’s father who discovered that by drinking human blood, he could suppress his desire to turn human into servant. Now, I know I am not explaining everything here, but it’s best to let the story to explain the rest of the secrets in detail and if they fail to do a good job at it, I will take care of explaining everything else next week.
In the midst of all that, Shiro could no longer bear what was happening between Erika and Kohei and offered herself to become Erika’s servant…
Obviously, the overprotective Sei wouldn’t let that one slide easily…
And for the very first time, Shiro stood up for what she believe in!!! So cool! The same situation also happened in the game but seeing it being animated making it that much more dramatic. Here, Shiro revealed a crucial element of the story. Spoiler alert!
The fact that the Togi family have been serving the Sendo family for centuries, as for the reason, can only tell you it’s related to Kaya’s father for now~
The normally calm Sei got upset with Iori
Spoiler again!
By this time, some of you might wonder, does Iori has servant? The answer is yes he does in fact has a servant… spoiler again if you don’t mind getting ahead~
So Iori’s intention to drag Kohei into the student council was finally clear… the fact the he knew Kohei would ended up triggering Erika’s vampire instinct… but in Iori’s defense, that was not all of it, again, the anime should explain everything else next week.
What will Erika do from now on???? What will happen between Erika and Kohei?
Ok, we are finally at this point now, just one more episode to go and we will have the epic conclusion of this errr supernatural love story? lol. I have revealed a bunch of secrets in this post and it should be good enough to reduce the unanswered questions related to the plot. However, if you are really impatient, I mean really really impatient… I will let you in the biggest secret of them all….. Super major spoiler alert!!!!
Do you really want to know??
[/spoiler]
And before I wrap this up for the week…. allow me to once again ahem, to show a little picture of my daughter Kiriha in one of the most elegant dress I have acquire for her~
And btw… I have got another super huge announcement here! After a whole week of waiting, Dollfie Dream Saber Lily has managed to travel across the ocean to become my 19th Dollfie Dream daughter today! And I am actually holding off her box opening ceremony until I finish this weekly FA blog post!!!

Liked the episode and looks like the story will wrap up next week with plenty of surprising revelations! ^^
Being an adaptation of an eroge, I’m liking the fact it’s not wishy washy harem but focuses the story on a fated pairing (or a single route of the original eroge so to speak).
Yet another interesting episode, and as expected, the Togi family is indeed as close to the Sendo family, why wouldn’t they know of vampires then?Never expected Kohei to be ***** either, well spoilers are spoilers. There lingering question here is,why would Erika have vampiric impulses if she *refer to last spoiler*?This will probably be explained in the next episode, looking forward to it.
