Well this is it folks, I mentioned in my last Fortune Arterial blog post that we are about to see some of the plot related secrets unfold and we have seen exactly just that. The story elements have most definitely switched into high gear this week with the secret behind Haruna’s amnesia and the true identity of Kuze Kiriha unfolding in front of our very eyes. I have always been rather certain that the anime adaption is following the path of the true arc from the game; but after this episode, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that’s exactly what we are going to get. Now, before I spoil any more of the secrets, let me cut myself off and switch to the memorable scene sharing, shall we? Starting right with this post, I am going to start using some spoiler tag feature to avoid exposing too much of the secrets~
Erika was really afraid of what she might end up wanting to do to Kohei…
And it was actually just a dream in Erika’s mind….
Before Erika even got a chance to settle her mind down, a mysterious cloak wearing character suddenly appear on top of the Church
Rumor of a Vampire spread like wildfire in the school
And the student council was forced to take action.
And Kanade wanted to patrol the school ground with the old fashioned Vampire deterring gear
Obviously, someone like Iori would sure to latch onto this chance for a little comedy
The four of them patrolled around the school campus
Apparently neither Erika nor Iori had any clue who this person is!
And the Shocking Truth! Don’t click on the spoiler if you don’t want to spoil yourself!
!!!! This familiar face!
is in fact ice queen beauty Kuze Kiriha – Sorry to burst some of you bubbles folks, she is in fact not human…..
I was in shock too when I first played through the game… much have been talked about how Erika is a vampire, but it’s a relative less well known fact that even Kiriha is not normal human. Now that part of the secret is out of the bag, we can go back to review some of the questionable scenes related to Kiriha. What you will find out in the next episode, is the Kiriha is an existence known as Servant, they are almost like Vampire in a way because they do no age, have strength and endurance superior to that of human being. The only drawback, is they have an extremely poor sense of taste… recall this particular scene back in episode 3
And nope, this scene wasn’t made just for fun, just that most people won’t pick up on it at the time of watching.
and have an uncontrollable sleep pattern… in episode 5
And the fact that Kiriha had to skip school all the time was to avoid getting caught in her shut down mode…. alright, enough spoiling here, I will let the next episode explain the rest of the fact.
And this mysterious character wasn’t quite ready to get chatty with the Student Council… and a wild chase in the school ground began~
Seeing that the mysterious character almost got away, Erika had to change to our red eye form! But unfortunately….
Haruna just happened to get right in front of Erika’s landing path….
This shocking event had Haruna collapsed on the spot….
But was it really the first time Haruna saw Erika’s red eye form??

And the answer is a big NO!
Remember Haruna had a mysterious amnesia after her “accident”?
And remember Erika’s subtle reaction when Haruna confronted Kanade about her amnesia?
As it turned out, it was Erika who saved Haruna’s life, but due to the fact that Haruna saw Erika’s red eye form, she had to erase her memory from six years ago…
And this little bust up, Erika was forced into a corner…. to do or not to do….
What will Erika do?
Will Haruna’s memory be erased??

And the answer is another big NO! Erika was in fact restoring Haruna’s memory!
And this picture right here might actually be another key plot device as well!

What a touching moment!
And while you think you have seen everything… another mysterious character is ready to make her debut!
And with the next episode, we are most likely going to look into the history of the mysterious character that we saw at the top of the church! Stay tune!

Was a nice episode with some great surprises. Good to see the plot kicking into high gear.
Wonder what will be revealed about Kouhei, his past and true self since Iori did say Kouhei was special too.
I can tell you, while Kohei is definitely human, he has somehow become the key the unlock the mystery behind the whole affair.
Hmmm…turning out more interesting than I’d first thought. That pic with Erika’s red eyes activating was cool.
BTW, not that it affects Iori or Erika, but…garlic actually doesn’t do anything to vampires. Sources vary, but it’s either because people believed the stench of garlic would trick the vampire into thinking the wearer/occupants were undead (Romania?), or else it was one of the cases wherein a person afflicted with rabies were hypersensitive to the smell of freshly crushed garlic…would have LOVED to see Kanade’s face if anyone ever pointed that out. ^_^
