I said last week that this episode we would be entering some major story development this week and my guess is partially correct. With the third episode we are finally getting more details and characters development for the main cast. I am once again very happy to see all the major scenes from the game being faithfully reproduced in the animated version. There were some very slight adjustments in the group outing and near the end of the episode in the student council room but it only served to reinforce the the story even better. Once again, without spoiling the story for anyone, as I hope to offer my unique prospective of this show since I am already familiar with the original Fortune Arterial story, allow me to share some of the screen shots taken during the Crunchyroll simulcast~
After resolving their misunderstanding, Kohei and Erika become good friends~
We are going to treated with a ton of scenes with Erika featuring her brilliant and cheerful smile throughout this episode~
And with Iori trying to hook up Erika and Kohei together, just like the way it was in game~
But he is seriously planning to put something in motion this time~
And I am obligated to show any scene associated with Kiriha here! It’s only the right thing for me to do!!!!!!!!
And the scene with Kiriha in the cafeteria faithfully reproduced here for our enjoyment!
This particular scene is also a major plot device that is suppose to give you a hint related to Kiriha~
This scene was never quite illustrated in game, and I am glad to see this being animated!
<3 Kiriha
And the Tea Party inside Kohei’s room, a regular event that occur rather frequently in game is also reproduced.
I don’t think I will ever get tired of looking at Erika’s cheerful smile~
Another plot point was buried here but it’s only obvious to those who has played the game.
The group outing in town also reproduced, although slightly modified to avoid disrupting the flow~
Erika is so pretty and always carry a cheerful smile on her face
Erika put a lot of emphasis on making friends and having fun in school together.
But not without giving a word of warning about her brother Iori~
And before long, Iori invited Kohei to the student council room for the major show down~
As he prepare to reveal the true identity of the Sendo family to Kohei, he invited Kohei to a table game.
But they are not exactly the Vampire in the traditional sense, that should be explained in further details later on~
Just right before Erika was about the enter the room~
And Iori spelled out his intention clear from the onset, just like the way it was in game as well. Now he must choose between acknowledging their secret identity or face to have his memory erased.
Then we are treated with scenes of Kohei’s past experience of being forced to leave his friends before due to his father’s work.
Erika got tense up as she awaited the Kohei’s decision~
With Kohei’s initial reaction to just forget everything he ever experienced since he set foot on this island, Erika was tasked to erase Kohei’s memory.
The fact that she had to erase Kohei’s memory brought tears to the normally cheerful Erika T.T;
Erika has a big big heart, full of emotion, it just wrench my heart to see her cry.
Thankfully, Kohei reversed his decision (otherwise I would have to punch him to submission myself!)
This cheerful face is much more suitable for Erika~
A preview of what’s coming in the next episode, just like the way it was in game! Once again, I am resisting the temptation to give out more spoiler of what’s coming up next but things will definitely get more interesting from now on!
I suppose with the anime being televised right now, it was inevitable that the respective merchandise to become hot commodity, it’s no exception for Dollfie Dream. This particular auction just ended earlier today, Dollfie Dream Erika finally got above the 100k yen threshold!
Have you picked up your favorite Fortune Arterial Dollfie Dream?

Was a nice episode though do feel the student council game/revelation scene and Kohei’s reaction weren’t as good as they might have been. Kohei still seems too stuck in the typical rut of the average harem male lead character, with meek reactions to Iori’s game and revelation.
Wonder where it all will lead to and if we’ll see some nice surprises from the characters and story.
Solid show so far though not earth shattering yet.
Well, August soft story is almost always about the girls and their struggle to overcome the obstacles in front of them. We still haven’t gotten to the core of the story yet. As far as Kohei’s reaction to the prez, well Kohei was supposed to be “confused” at the event at the church and thought it was some kind of prank played by the prez (remember the prank at the bath house), so in half-disbelieve, he didn’t have many strong reaction.
We are not yet at the core of the story, the sport festival next episode is the end of the common arc in game, and the individual heroine story begin from there.
At first I thought Kohei wanted to erase his memories in order to protect their existence from being known and let his friends remain ignorant since they popped up while he was thinking, good thing he chose not to.
Anyway, seems you didn’t put any chinese and japanese in this post.Perhaps I didn’t update myself enough to notice when you made the change.
Allow me to explain this, the stories from August Soft always has an underlying theme, that will build up several times throughout the story, first episode “Migrating bird” suggested that Kohei is “accustomed to” leaving his friends behind during his 10 consecutive transfer in highschool, that is meant to equivalent to having his memory erased. That had happened so often that he grew numb of the idea of losing the friends he just made in other schools. So when Iori said they would have his memory erased if he chose not to accept their secret, he didn’t care for it and just want to get it over with. Would you let your memory to be erased if those were happy memory? Are your memory so unimportant? This is meant to signify a change of Kohei’s state of mind, instead of running away from problem, he now has chosen to “face the problem” head on. That is meant to prepare him to deal with the unusual circumstances associated with the “love affair” he is about to get into. I guess I don’t have to explain that further right? It is pretty obvious who he is going to fall for right?
Aye, I have began updating my blog with Chinese and Japanese translation, but that usually lag the English post a few days ~
I see, thank you for explaining, since I’ve not familiarized myself with the story. .My first conclusion was actually based on the probability of him actually having more of an attachment to his friends since he did live with some of them before, even though he was used to clearing away memories.I kind of hoped he would have done so to help them,in a sense.Of course,I highly doubt he’ll fall in love with anyone but XXXXX in this arc.
Well, having some form of attachment to his friends is of course one of the reason. The Sendo family is of no harm to anyone so there is no one to protect to or from anyone so to speak. I don’t want to give you anymore details than I absolutely have to, but the story should be squarely focusing on Erika and her struggles going forward, you will see. Like I replied to smithy, August soft’s game always revolve around the theme of having some insurmountable obstacle that the protagonist and heroine must overcome together. Let’s hope the anime will account for this properly.
