Notes: After a prolonged break, Miss Dollfie Summer, Japan Trip or what have you, I finally got myself together and decided to finish this story once and for all! I bet at least some of you must be tired from all the Dollfie Dream posts I have been making… in the last 10 or so posts orz… ok time to break it up with something else!
I concluded the 2nd part of the story with Takaaki finally came out of his old habit and formally confessed his love for Sasara in front of everyone in school. While I completely understand the scenario Leaf was playing out, but making the girl doing all the heavy lifting is just not sitting right with me. Anyway, I didn’t plan on splitting the story 3 ways before, but the 2nd part was getting too big and I didn’t feel I could rush all the details before I get frustrated with myself. We will be treated with another major turning point in part 3, served as a final twist to Sasara’s story line.
With the love confession out of the way, Takaaki and Sasara have finally gotten into the “first name” basis (why did it take them so long anyway?!!). At the student council, Sasara appeared to have something to tell Takaaki but words couldn’t quite come out as if she was too embarrassed to say it, just as Takaaki was about to reach out to her, they were caught in the middle of the act by Tama-nee, Yuji and Konomi together!
They were not spared from the the teasing from the rest of the student council members, with Yuji and Konomi acting out the scene in front of them and Tama-nee wondering why the room felt so “hot” as if they were in some honeymoon hot spots like Hawaii, etc. Obviously, both Takaaki and Sasara were rather embarrassed about it. Sasara went one step further and tried to apologize to Tama-nee but was interrupted by her as she explained that there was nothing wrong with it and it was good for them and she should feel that as a privilege for a girl in love. Sasara almost broke into tears as she sensed Tama-nee gave them her blessing to their relationship (remember they were “rival” after all).
With a smiling face, Tama-nee told Sasara that she would also begin to call her by Sasara and she should also call her by Tamaki.
Konomi too!
But when Yuji tried to get in on the free ride, Tama-nee returned to her old self and gave him the all too famous “skull crushing head grab”!
(For whatever the reason is, this move reminds me of the Fist of the North Star!)
Since there wasn’t much student council work, the meeting ended early and Tama-nee led the rest of the gang out and left Takaaki and Sasara alone to clean up (but not before warning Takaaki to not do anything “ecchi” inside the sacred student council room or she would throw him out the window!). As they walked down the path from the school, Sasara suddenly remembered what she was going to tell Takaaki before.
As it turned out, it was the meet the mother day ….. (Personally, I would probably freaked out lol after only confessed the day before, then again we are on a tight schedule here so take it as you will!)
As Sasara explained, her mother was in the advertising business, quite successful at it too. Once she heard that Sasara has a boyfriend, she had to see Takaaki no matter what, just how would Takaaki flare in front of her? After some formal introduction, it seemed that Sasara had already reported every little details on the relationship and the initial awkward moment eased off.
Sasara’s mother was somewhat surprised to see Sasara to bring such a “cute boy” to meet her but she felt fortunate that Takaaki appeared to be serious and kind. (One interesting side note here is that Sasara normally addresses her mother as “Okaasan” but in one instance she accidentally used “Mama” instead but was quickly corrected by her mother that she was not a child anymore…
The meeting turned out to be rather friendly, although Takaaki’s house was really close to where they had met up, but Sasara’s mother insisted to drive him home. Before they took off, Sasara’s mother appeared to be satisfy with Takaaki and told him to take care of Sasara in the future.
Next door neighbor Konomi caught a glimpse of the event unfolding in front of Takaaki’s house and came over for a load down!
Back in the student council, Maryan sempai was listening to the report from Konomi about the meeting between Takaaki and Sasara’s mother.
With an important event such as “Parental approval”, Maryan sempai did not waste a single moment and teased Takaaki about being a man and take responsibility! Takaaki tried to defend himself by saying he didn’t do it, but Maryan sempai immediately latched onto his reply and congratulated Sasara that Takaaki had probably been wanting to “do it” after all. Sasara understood the underlying message and immediately turned red like a pot of boiling water. Since Takaaki has already obtained the seal of approval to “marry” Sasara, Maryan sempai suggested that Takaaki should treat everyone to the hamburger joint to share his “happiness”. However, before they set off to the hamburger joint, someone knock on the student council door, a student reported to have seen a stranger wandering the school ground.
As it turned out, the stranger was actually…. Sasara’s father
There was a little awkward moment at first, but Takaaki was invited along as “representative” of Sasara’s friends. Sasara’s father wanted to treat them something to eat and wanted to know if they wanted anything in particular, and to that, Sasara simply replied while not looking back to her father, “Hamburger”. As if he had already known what the answer would be, Sasara’s father finally explained the mysterious link between Sasara and Hamburger. As it turned out, Sasara had always liked to eat the homemade hamburger her father made, no matter whether they were at a friend’s place or in a restaurant, Sasara had always insisted on eating the food her father prepared. However, when Sasara’s father asked her if the hamburger at the fast food joint tasted good, Sasara simply said she didn’t know. Their conversation quickly ended and they arrived at the Hamburger joint shortly after. As an observer, it was fairly easy for Takaaki to notice the huge difference between the way Sasara behaved in front of her mother versus her father. Sasara was very respectful in front of her mother and appeared to be keeping her father at a distance, something Takaaki was vaguely familiar with – the cold hearted student council president when they first met.
The awkward silence continued after they arrived the hamburger joint. Sasara’s father noticed the difficult situation Takaaki must be in and asked if he was Sasara’s boyfriend since they were already in “first name basis”. Sasara wanted to saying something and stopped eating her hamburger, but she still couldn’t bring herself to reply to her father directly. Sasara’s father told her that she shouldn’t be shy about having a boyfriend since he had met Sasara’s mother about the same age, and further explained that Sasara was old enough to have a relationship. After that, Sasara finally initiated a conversation and wanted to know why he wanted to see her.
Then it was Sasara’s father’s turn to keep his head down as he began to explain that he was still just an instructor in an art university but he had picked up a part time job recently so he was doing better financially, but it would still be a stretch to pick up the living expense if they were to live together. Sasara’s father then handed Sasara a big paper bag with one of his prototype art sculpture from his part time job. After that, Sasara’s father began to explain that he had recently moved to about 2 to 3 train stations away from where they were because of his part time job, and it appeared that was the main reason whey he had come to visit. Sasara, on the other hand, did not seem to be interested in the news and only casually acknowledged the fact. Takaaki had to be blind to not noticed that Sasara’s parents had separated. However, something about the behavior between Sasara and her father just didn’t sit right with Takaaki. It was obvious that the reason Sasara’s father went through the trouble to meet Sasara was to tell her it would be easier for them to meet up from now on, but those words never came out, and Sasara must have known that too, but she never said anything about that either.
It appeared that Sasara’s mother didn’t like Sasara to see her father, so after they left the hamburger joint, Sasara’s father told Takaaki to take care of Sasara and left on his own. Just as Takaaki was wondering if it was ok for him to ask Sasara about her father, Sasara took the initiative and began to explain her family background.
Sasara’s parents had been separated since she was young, her mother took her custody and separated from her father. Up until this point, her father still haven’t had stable income, but they still would meet up from time to time. Even though she explained the situation to Takaaki, she urged him to keep it a secret.
Takaaki was worried about Sasara so he walked her all the way back to her apartment. As they arrived at the relatively new apartment complex, they were greeted by Sasara’s mother from behind.
Sasara was surprised to see her mother so early in the day, but Sasara’s mother explained that she had taken off early yesterday to meet them so she had stayed overnight in the office to make up the hours, thus giving her a chance to take off early today.
It didn’t take long for Sasara’s mother to notice the bag Sasara was holding, and asked if that was a gift from Takaaki. However, Sasara’s hesitation to give her mother a straight answer gave away the origin of the gift. Sasara’s mother changed her expression completely said to Sasara, “Oh, it’s from that man.”
Sasara didn’t know how to respond to her mother, closed her eyes and said she was sorry while holding tightly on the bag. Seeing how terrified Sasara was, Sasara’s mother had changed her expression again and told Sasara it was ok, being kind to anyone was her strong point. However, while Sasara’s mother was padding Sasara’s head in a gentle manner, Sasara was still shaking from fear. Suddenly, Sasara’s mother suggested that they should go out and shopping, buy new clothes, find a nice place to eat dinner. Sasara’s mother turned around to Takaaki and asked him to join them for dinner since he was living alone anyway. But before Takaaki had a chance to respond, she had already walked towards the parking garage as if it was already decided.
Under Sasara’s mother’s insistence, Sasara carefully picked out a dress. However, when Sasara’s mother looked at the price tag, proceed to “once again” explain to Sasara that she should not have to worry about money, because mother had been working very hard for Sasara, there were plenty of money, they could afford to live in a nice apartment, have their own car, it shouldn’t have been a big deal to spend a little extra. Sasara on the other hand, mechanically acknowledged her mother’s comments in response as if she had been doing it for a long time. However, Sasara’s mother did not appear to like her response and proceed to ask Sasara if she like “that man” better. Sasara immediately frozen up and denied it in front of her mother.
During dinner, it was rather quiet, even though Sasara was behaving normally, it just didn’t seem right to Takaaki, as if Sasara wasn’t really living her own life. It is true that she was able to move and can breath, but was that sufficient to say that she was alive?
After dinner, Sasara’s mother dropped Takaaki off back to his house. However, it didn’t feel like an accomplishment like it was yesterday, more like feeling of unease. Just as Takaaki was ready to see them off, Sasara also got off the car as if she didn’t want to go home just yet (I was rather surprised myself). Sasara’s mother uncharacteristically admitted defeat and allowed Sasara to stay with Takaaki but told her to come home as early as possible.
Sasara began apologizing to Takaaki about the events that unfolded. Even though Takaaki realized unnatural behavior of her family, he tried to comfort Sasara by saying that her parents looked very kind and caring for her. To Takaaki’s surprise, Sasara asked him if kindness is a good thing, what exactly is kindness? And if they were really good parents, why did they have to separate? There must be “something” wrong for them to be separated. She further explained that both of her parents were just having a fight, they pretended to love her, pretended to love her; and they didn’t really approve of Takaaki either while looking into his eyes, they just pretended to understand Sasara’s feelings. And because of all that, as Sasara put it; she also pretended to love them, because they could achieve “happiness” that way, and no one have to get hurt… And since she has been acting perfectly all these time, it will be just fine from here on out. Sasara tried her hardiest to not cry but she couldn’t stop her tear from coming out of her eyes.
Takaaki was afraid what Sasara would say next or what she would do, he had little choice to hold Sasara as tight as he could. Takaaki knew in his heart that he should try to do something about this situation, but by the time Sasara went home, he still couldn’t figure out what to do.
Back in school the next day, Takaaki was trying leaning against the window and try to think of a way to help Sasara but he was interrupted by Yuji who reminded him that leaning on the window silt in the evening is a move reserved for girls only.
Takaaki tried to defend himself by saying that even guys can have their melancholy! It’s called the Melancholy of Takaaki Kono!
Yuji perhaps misunderstood the reason why Takaaki was troubled and while carrying that sinister smile on his face, picked something out of his pocket, stuffed the “you know what” to Takaaki, and told him to use “protection” and not to mess up since the Golden Week was coming up.
While Takaaki might have almost forgotten about the golden week because he had been worrying about Sasara this whole time, but Yuji’s reminder came just in time for the occasion (perhaps not for the right reason, but it didn’t matter!). A getaway with Sasara might just be what she needed to cheer her up. Just as Takaaki make up his mind to invite Sasara out for the golden week, he was surprised by Sasara’s presence behind him and asked him where he planned to invite her to!
Takaaki was embarrassed because the “train of thought” he had due to Yuji’s “special gift”, and Sasara, while realizing what had been going on suggested that even staying overnight would be “ok”. In fact, Sasara has also been looking forward to spend their first golden week together.
However, just as everything seemed to be proceeding smoothly, Sasara noticed something highly unusual out the window…. Sasara’s mother has arrived at the school ground…. It was not the parent-teacher day, just why is Sasara’s mother coming to school?
Sasara didn’t feel comfortable seeing her mother in the school ground at a time like this and decided to go down and meet her.
They met up with Sasara’s mother at the front entrance just as she was checking out the directory.
Since Sasara’s mother had never been to the school before so she was delighted to see them and immediately asked Sasara to take her to the Teacher’s room. While that in itself isn’t a problem, but Sasara’s mother began to explain that plan they had talked about before has finally materialized. Sasara thought for a while and realized the plan her mother was making and begged her to not go through with it. Sasara’s mother wasn’t going to back down from this and began to tell Sasara that she should try to take a look at the outside world a bit more. Sasara’s mother turned around to Takaaki and thanked him for everything he had done for Sasara, however, it was to say goodbye…. Before Takaaki had a chance to react, she told him that Sasara had decided to study aboard….
Back at the student council room, everyone was shocked to hear the latest development regarding Sasara’s plan to study aboard. It appeared that Sasara’s mother have to take up a position in New York, and since the duration was set to be rather long, so Sasara has to travel along with her…
However, the unfolding of this event reminded Takaaki what happened the night before, especially about how Sasara’s mother only pretend to understand her daughter… Nevertheless, it was useless to speculate any further until Sasara come back.
Sasara was surprised to see everyone was still around, and while she knew everyone must have already heard from Takaaki about her plan to study aboard; she announced that she planned to resign from the student council within the month, since she has to prepare to study aboard and learn English seriously, probably have to take a leave from school after the golden week end.
After explaining her situation, Sasara asked to Tama-nee to take up the student council president position. Even strong as Tama-nee to accept the situation and had trouble to say anything meaningful.
The student council meeting came to a stalemate because no one knew what to say or to do. Seeing the situation, Sasara packed up her belongings and told the rest of the council to discuss further details tomorrow.
Takaaki couldn’t just stomach the events unfolding before him and ran after Sasara. Sasara didn’t want to slow down, so Takaaki had to catch her arm before she came to a stop; but even then she didn’t want to turn around to face Takaaki directly. Takaaki begged Sasara to discuss the matter with her mother again, but to his surprise, Sasara simply told him that there was no other way… and begged Takaaki to accept this outcome as it is.
There was little Takaaki could do as Sasara loosened his grip on her and ran away.
Back in the student council room next day, very little had changed since the group was still in shock over the fact that Sasara was about to resign and study aboard. Konomi managed to suggest a send off party for Sasara, but even that didn’t come very easily… After the meeting, most of the student council members left early and try to give as Sasara and Takaaki as much time together as possible.
Takaaki gathered up his courage and asked Sasara to walk home together, even though Sasara had to hesitate for a little bit, but she eventually agreed to walk home together with a smile.

Before Takaaki realized it himself, they were already at the point where they usually part ways. At this point, Takaaki finally decided to speak out everything in his mind. He didn’t want to part ways with Sasara, wanted to stay together. He didn’t want to say goodbye no matter what…
However, the chance of Sasara ever coming back to Japan was slim because her mother didn’t want to come back to Japan. Obviously, Takaaki didn’t understand why they won’t ever come back because his own parents left him behind. And just why couldn’t Sasara just stay in a student dorm, even with her father?!
That’s right, Sasara has a father too! But the moment Takaaki even mentioned her father, as if it was forbidden to mention her father in any shape or form… Sasara screamed from the top of her voice, that her mother would have never allowed that to happen, she could not have been allowed to stay with her father… In the end, they couldn’t accomplish anything..
Back in front of Sasara’s apartment building, they were greeted by Sasara’s mother who appeared to have be looking frantically for her for sometime; but she was relieved to find out that she wasn’t taken away by “that man”.
Just like that, the golden week holiday began without any plan… Takaaki couldn’t bring himself to plan anything to do with Sasara just to “end it” properly, it would have driven him crazy. So, without any concrete plan, he decided to at least give Sasara a phone call…
Takaaki once again attempted to convince Sasara to consider her father as an option, but it soon became clear that the whole reason for Sasara’s mother to move away from Japan was to stay as far away from Sasara’s father as possible. It wasn’t exactly easy, but Takaaki was finally able to convince Sasara to at least talk to her father about it and to believe in her father once again. At this point, Takaaki could finally feel Sasara’s desire to rediscover her feelings for her father, even more so than to avoid studying aboard. But ever since Sasara’s father recent appearance, Sasara’s mother has been keeping a close eyes on Sasara everyday, picking up the phone, driving her back and forth from school, so there little chance for them to meet up with her father without being detected by her mother. They eventually came up with a plan to meet up with Sasara’s father while telling her mother they were working on student council in school.
After they saw Sasara’s mother off, Sasara proceed to call her father and betting all hope that he could provide the solution Sasara need to stay in Japan.
However, the reality they were about to face is not what they wanted. Sasara’s father flat out rejected their proposal to help keep Sasara in Japan and stated he had no rights to take Sasara away from her mother. As Sasara’s father began to explain his situation, we finally get to understand the complex family problem the Kusugawa family was having. Even until this day, he was still in love with Sasara’s mother, however, he couldn’t do anything. They were both artists at heart when they entered university, however, the reality for artist is very harsh, they could hardly find stable income even after they graduated; and on top of all that, they had already married and Sasara was already born during their university days. It would still had been fine for the grown up, but it was just too harsh for the little Sasara.
Over time, they began to lose the passion to pursue their dream. At that time, Sasara’s mother decided gave up her dream, for the reason that she didn’t have enough talent. Sasara father was angry that she gave up her dream. Not long after that, Sasara’s mother began to achieve success in the advertising business since she had always been good at finding the right people and use them appropriately, perhaps that was the talent that she was born with, Sasara’s father began to feel a bit jealous of her success. But just when Sasara’s father was getting close to achieve his dream (or so he felt), he found out he was cheated by Sasara’s mother, she didn’t give up her dream because she gave up, she gave up her dream because she believe in his talent. She gave up her dream so that he could have the means to continue to pursue his dream.
At that time, if one of them did not concentrate on working for food, they wouldn’t even survived, not to mention about their dream. So, Sasara’s mother gave up her dream so that Sasara’s father could fulfill his dream, even though she never said anything about it. After Sasara’s father found out the truth, he lost the will to continue to draw, he pushed all the harsh reality to his wife and pursued his dream. He felt guilty about the whole thing and decided if he had given up drawing, he could start over with Sasara’s mother. However, the reality didn’t quite turn out that way, the moment he gave up his dream, at the same time, he denied all the effort his wife had done for him. She believe if he were to achieve success one day, she would have gotten the reward she was looking for. In the end, even though they were pursuing the same dream, they were not the same type of people. One wanted to hold and grab onto the dream, the other one just simply wanted to chase after the dream. Sasara’s mother wished his husband to be successful, while Sasara’s father just wanted to talk about pursuing their dream. In the end, they could only go their separate way. Sasara’s mother must have believed that he gave up on her so she put all her focus on Sasara. And that’s part of the reason why she didn’t want Sasara to see her father.
Takaaki was rather angry after he had heard the whole story, if Sasara’s father was still in love, he should have done something to stop his ex-wife and shouldn’t have given up so easily. But soon he realized that was the way Sasara’s father loved Sasara’s mother, and in a way very much liked his former self. Sasara’s father then proceed to explain that even though Sasara was going to be aboard, America wasn’t that far away, they could still meet up if they were serious about it. And if they could just tolerate this obstacle for a little while, they could eventually find their happiness. Sasara’s father noticed they were still dressed in school uniform and knew that they must have made up a story to meet him and advised them to go back to school as soon as possible as he got up.
As Sasara’s father drove them back to school, either Sasara nor Takaaki could say anything. Even though they understood Sasara’s father’s reasoning, but they couldn’t just accept it. Just as they arrived at the school ground, they noticed that Sasara’s mother had already arrived at the school and waiting for them, much earlier than what they were expecting.
Sasara’s father didn’t want Sasara to get into trouble and claimed that it was his idea to meet up, and took all the blame head on, didn’t even try to make any excuse for himself. And Sasara, couldn’t bare watching her father’s attitude and taking all the blame, she shaked off her mother and held on to Takaaki (literally shocked me, I mean really, the extremely passive Sasara is finally going to transform! ).
Sasara’s mother was in shock to see her daughter’s change in attitude. Sasara flat out told her mother that she didn’t want to go to America, no matter what. And Takaaki also begged that Sasara’s mother to consider their feelings. Sasara’s mother brushed off Takaaki’s request and told him that he couldn’t do anything for Sasara, and just even before Takaaki could respond to that, Sasara gave him that look that he should leave it up to her… (And the epic showdown!)
Sasara thanked her parents for giving her the chance to go to school, food to eat, clothes, and gifts, but that’s not what she wished for… she only wanted to be loved by her parents, listen to her, and tell her that they loved her the most in the whole wide world ! (while screaming at the tip of her voice!!!)
And while looking at her father.. and asked him if he knew she couldn’t eat anything other than convenience store bento and candies, anything else would cause her to throw up.
She hated the hamburger from the fast food joint but she couldn’t eat anything else.
And while looking at her mother…. and told her that she wasn’t popular in school at all even though she was the student council president, if it wasn’t for Takaaki and Maryan sempai, she would still be alone by herself.
Sasara’s mother was in total shock to hear the story from her daughter and dropped down to her knees. However, there is no stopping for Sasara now, why is this so sad, is it because Sasara was a bad child and that’s why no one loved her?
Sasara loved her father, but he left her behind, forgotten about his own self and ran away.
Sasara also loved her mother, but since she knew that Sasara also loved her father and always suspected that Sasara loved her father more, she never truly believed Sasara’s love for her.
Sasara was broken, already broken, she knew she was broken for a long time but she didn’t know what to do. Takaaki held on to Sasara and tried to comfort her, and while declaring to her parents that he would never hand Sasara over to them. Did they really love Sasara, have they ever consider how their behavior could have affected her? Even though they were such messed up parents, Sasara still tried her very best to love them. They must have knew it, but they refused to look at the truth. After spilling his guts, Takaaki turned to Sasara and told her to run away with him! (Bold move there Takaaki, didn’t think he could pull that off!)
They ran and ran, they knew they had to get away but couldn’t decide where to go. Sasara’s mother already knew where Takaaki live so they couldn’t go there, eventually they settled back to hiding in the school…
And here we have to refer back to part 2 of the story when the student council did the ghost hunt, and the secret Takaaki learned from the alien girl Ruuko about how to break into the school! And after they got into the building, they headed straight up to the student council.
And let’s not forget Sasara is afraid of the dark (refer to the ghost hunt story), but they couldn’t turn on the light because it might get noticed by the guard.
Takaaki brought the sleep over bedding and blankets out for Sasara and urged her to sleep and while he tried to sleep on the chair himself. But out of the blue, Sasara tucked on Takaaki’s blanket to get his attention… it was Sasara’s own idea, but she suggested that they “sleep” together. (Hey, don’t get too excited yet, they were merely sleeping under the same blanket!)
And the next morning, we got the unavoidable-accidentally-touched-oppai situation as Takaaki tried to get up and Sasara (perhaps felt the “pressure” on her chest? lol) also woke up soon after. We were treated with this brilliant smile from Sasara (we don’t get to see that very often, mind you)
Although they don’t have any idea how to go about hiding here, but Takaaki decided that he would still attend classes and advised Sasara to not look out the window. Since only the student council members would come to the room, they only have to explain their situation to them and make up a reason to say Sasara had a cold and have to stay home. It was highly unlikely that Takaaki could go home, so he just straighten out his clothes and said, and instinctively said “I am leaving” to Sasara, and while Sasara, perhaps realizing the unique situation they were in, felt that she was like the wife seeing her husband off to work and responded with “Please be careful, dear”.
After school, Takaaki began to explain their situation to the rest of the student council. There were some awkward silence because running away from home is never a good thing to do. Tama-nee was among the first to speak up against their doing.
But Tama-nee finally agreed to offer them as much help as she could manage, however, she urged them to not expect too much.
And since either Takaaki nor Sasara could move around as they pleased, it was decided that Yuji would deliver food and drinks to them during lunch break.
But soon, their cover up about Sasara out sick was blown because her parents had already called the school and the fact that Takaaki might have been involved in the run away is probably well known by now…. and the only choice they really had was to seriously leave everything behind and run away from this town.
During the next couple of days, the student council member took turns to deliver supplies to them, and we are treated with a few more scenes such as them sneaking out at night to public bath
(and for whatever reason, Sasara seemed to enjoy going to public bath with Takaaki a lot and often referred it as “activities for newly wed couple, perhaps to set the stage for what is sure to come
)
And when Takaaki tried to give Sasara a real “kiss” and being interrupted by Yuji who was there to deliver their lunch.
And the next time they went to the public bath at night, they went head to head with Sasara’s parents.
Sasara’s mother begged Sasara to not run away from her, she even promised that she wouldn’t go to America anymore and she would even quit her job and stay with her. (I seriously thought it would end right here) Even Takaaki had thought that they might have done enough already, and it’s about time for Sasara to return to her mother, but to everyone’s surprise, it seemed even that didn’t satisfy Sasara (perhaps she knew that she only pretended to give concession? I don’t know
)
Back in the student council room, they were greeted by Maryan sempai.
But why at this time? Perhaps it was Maryan sempai that lead Sasara’s parents here? Could it be? Maryan sempai once again use her Maryan sempai school of logic (that she is capable of but often chose to be comic relief character) and questioned them just how they plan to live on, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, and for how much longer? As Maryan sempai put it, Sasara’s parents and the school teachers already knew they were hiding here for some time now, but they have been just observing their situation here.
And because of them, the teachers have all been working overnight and observing the situation here. Maryan sempai urged them to stop playing this game and hope to convince them before the situation get much worst. Under the worst case scenario, the teachers were ready to break into this room if necessary. Sasara should just use this chance to just tell her parents what she wanted to say once and for all, this is the best chance to surrender.
Takaaki didn’t understand what Maryan sempai meant by surrendering, but it seemed that the teachers were getting pretty serious about breaking in and put this matter to an end. Maryan sempai further explained that this is their best chance to bring everyone to the negotiating table. It was true that their original intention was to avoid having Sasara to study aboard, however it was no longer what they wished for…. they didn’t fight to get a chance to negotiate and they will continue to fight for what they want. Maryan sempai was in shocked at first but soon realized what they were aiming for. Maryan sempai turned off the voice recorder she had with her (obviously the whole conversation had been recorded), and showed it to Takaaki and asked him if it was ok to give it to the teachers. Takaaki nodded his head and the challenge letter is for real. Just before Maryan sempai was getting ready to leave the room, she asked Takaaki if he had a plan to escape (since they were pretty much boxed in this room and had no way out), and while pointing out to the windows, she asked him if he wanted to fly away? Before Takaaki had a chance to answer, Maryan sempai had already left.
Both Takaaki and Sasara knew tomorrow morning was the battle to decide their fate, although it was by their own choice, it was still a rather terrifying. Takaaki gathered up his courage and asked Sasara to “combine” with him so they could feel no regret; and Sasara of course agreed to it!
(And folks, we are getting close to the final stretch! And that means eroge scene! Unfortunately, we have already hit over 6000 words, so I am going to have to defer the eroge scene translation to a special chapter! )
The next morning, the teachers were no longer hiding and could be seen in the school ground, they were surrounded!
Takaaki tried to look around for tools they could use to get away and finally thought of something that might have been stored away, the rope ladder that Maryan sempai used to enter from the window from before! With the rope ladder on hand, they planned to draw the teachers as close as possible to make their escape since they were located in the 3rd floor.
After a series a running and chasing, they were able to make their way to music room where they could see the school ground. Among the teachers and Sasara’s parents stood Maryan Sempai, who seemed to be making a certain gesture, as if that was hint.
If they believe Maryan sempai is on their side, she must have done something for them and the key was to make it to the roof, just as the way she suggested as she left the student council room the night before.
Just as Takaaki expected, they finally found a giant arrow drawn with white chalk on the roof, but by the time they had found it, Sasara’s parents have made their way to the roof as well.
Sasara’s parents once again tried to convince her to go back to them, but to their surprise, it was no longer what she wanted. As Sasara explained, it’s not that she didn’t love her parents, she loved her mother, father and Takaaki. But since she had been with Takaaki, she had learned that she was merely a doll to her parents, she couldn’t be happy by being a doll and therefore, she wanted to run away with Takaaki, by her own decision. After declaring her intention, they ran in the direction of the arrow and leaped off the roof!
Takaaki and Sasara were greeted by Maryan sempai after they landed. Somehow, Maryan sempai managed to setup a landing platform while not getting noticed by the teachers.
And by the time the teachers realized what had happened, Takaaki and Sasara were already long gone!
Back on the roof, while Sasara’s mother didn’t understand why they would take such a risk, but Sasara’s father have admitted defeated and told her they should just let them go. From the way their conversation went, it appeared there was some hope left for them after all!
In front of the school gate, Maryan sempai gave both Takaaki and Sasara a backpack she put together and told them to go run away to the edge of the world
Spring has ended, but their story will continue towards the distance future!
(*Note* Maryan sempai is really quite awesome, no wonder they had to put her route in the ToHeart 2 Another Day)
Epilogue: I guess Leaf couldn’t just leave the story as is and have to wrap it up somehow.
Takaaki and Sasara finally settled down at a remote island far south but the fact that a young couple would ended up in such a remote place had raised some suspicion among the local residents. It lasted about 3 weeks but they were eventually caught by the Police. Obviously, they were greeted by Sasara’s parents back at the Police station and even Takaaki’s parents had made their way back from oversea as well. Obviously, they were suspended from school and by the time the suspension was lifted, it was almost exam time.
While they were studying for exam in Takaaki’s room, Sasara finally disclosed her plan to go with her mother to America, only this time it was by her own decision.
Sasara didn’t want to have her mother go to America all by herself, even though her mother said it was ok for her to go alone. Sasara promised that she won’t become a doll for her mother anymore and that she would try to live her own life. After hearing that, Takaaki also promised that he would get a summer job and save up enough money to meet Sasara in America by Christmas.
Sasara arc end.
Close to 7000 words this time, too much details as always! But I have finally finished the story like I said I would! Going to start working on the “you know what” scene, hopefully within a week or so!
The entire Sasara arc is well over 15000 words by now, was that too much? Feel free to give me any feedback you might have!

Boring. I didn’t see even a single giant robot!
Oh brother Snark, you won’t find giant robot in this story but you will see full translation on the eroge scene when I am done with the translation.
why put censor on sasara >_< ?
This is a general purpose site, any pictures not under password protected pages will be censored. I do release 18+ content from time to time, but only for people I am already familiar with.
first off thanks for taking the time to do these epic detailed write-ups! secondly… erogeeee sceneee!!!! ehhmm
Sasara is a sweetheart. her arc is great with lost of surprises, now i really understand her personality.
also Maryan is awesome! and Sasara’s mom is hawt =P
Thanks ^^; I hope you enjoyed Sasara’s story as much as I do, I like to see growth in a character and transformation from one phase to another and Sasara delivered just that, growth. Most visual novel focus on the progression of the relationship between the heroine and the protagonist, but Sasara’s arc delivered the growth of Sasara’s character as well, so effectively Sasara becomes a better person. And Maryan does a fairly good job delivering the comic relief moments and even the ever so strong Tamaki couldn’t do a thing in front of the mighty Maryan sempai!
I will get to the eroge scene, possibly after some shootouts for Dollfie Dream Theater and loot posts first.
now I know why you have the dollfie dream reference lol!
.-= chun´s last blog ..Taiga Aisaka goes out 4 =-.
Just a little pun I was playing :p I hope you enjoyed the story though.
Thanks again for taking the time to do these write ups for the English speaking crowds. Must have taken you quite a bit a time to make these articles and I just wanted to let you know that it is appreciated.
After reading part 3, I feel like I have seen Sasara grow up into a fine young lady. Not just because of the eroge scene but because of seeing her able to strongly speak up for herself and aim for what she wants in life.
See your translating the eroge scene as well. :p The password is given out to the e-mails in our comments or is there another way? Might not get to read it for a while though because they’re talking like we will get underway for a very long time. ):
Thanks for reading the wall of text! Did you have any problem understanding my Engrish? I have always thought that I did a lot of writing for Feena or Estel for that matter, but Sasara blew them away, all thanks to Leaf. I have to say Leaf is definitely one step up above the generic visual novel. I really like all the little things the Leaf put into the game to symbolize the situation, like when Sasara was hypnotized to bring out her previous life during the mystery club investigation, and Sasara turning out to be an ancient Mu Warrior, identified Tamaki as her rival etc.. like subconsciously Sasara has already identified Tamaki as her rival.
It’s unfortunately that ToHeart 2 OVA does very little to convey the story for Sasara and the wiki description didn’t help much either, so I had to take it upon myself to explain just who Kusugawa Sasara really is.
Oh, going to be underway again so soon? I think I am going to start working on it next week so hopefully won’t take too long to finish the eroge scene. Yeah, just reply comment and I will forward the password.
*Gulp*
That’s alot of text…
I will just slowly read through them. May take me several days though. ^ ^;
Yes, it’s a long story, hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
I LOVE H-GAMES and just did a report on some upcoming ones just yesterday. I never really heard of this one! I’ll DEFINITELY go and check it out. At the moment I’m catching up on Princess Waltz and almost done with Cosplay Fetish Academy. But I’ll definitely be keeping up with your site

Oh wow. Those are great. Great job man. You have my respect.
Thank you ^^; Very rarely do people bother to write a response to these posts, thank you for your feedback ^^;
That was one heck of a wonderful story, though there were some typos in each part from 1-3.First part and the end of part 3 were beautiful.Oh,and Sasara too.
I’d finally finished reading the whole Sasara’s story and it was a very nice one ^^.
It was hell of a great job to do these arcs, congratulations to you Wolfy. I just wish there would be more arcs of Sasara cause I’m kind of hungry of her right now XD.
(Now I’m gonna see if I’m able to read the arcs of Tama-nee…)
As I said, congratulations! ~And as I also say, better late than never X3
Took you long enough! I wrote this well over a year ago!
