It’s been a long time since I have taken photos of my Gathering collection, perhaps I am just lazy taking them out from my dust free display. Anyway, with the new camera and everything, I have got to take this chance to do more testing on the camera and get myself familiar with it as soon as possible. Saber Lily arrived at a perfect time since I haven’t found a place to store her yet XD.
As usual with the Gathering series, you can expect high level of details and finishes, let just say their finishes is on par if not better than some of the leading PVC manufacturers. I have always been a fan of the painted resin figures because of their wider selection. And with their choice station, customer like me has some input as to what they want to work on next! I am putting my chips in a Gathering release of 1/4 Kos-mos version 4 from C3 X Hobby 2009. There is no a chance that I will ever have enough skills to build that kit myself, so I am waiting for a Gathering release for sure. I have been keeping the resolution the same as 4288 X 2828 on most of these shots, clicking on it should bring up the full size image from my flickr account.
Different lighting effect, there are so many different settings for me to choose from, just white balances alone is already driving me crazy lol. It’s good to be able to experiment with different settings though.
I kind of like the warm lighting effect here.
Details on the base.
Zooming in closer to the face and the chest area. That little chest plate you see here is actually magnetically attached to her body, but the fitting between the chest plate and her right arm is so tight that it’s really not feasible to remove her afterward. Do pay attention to this part if you are assembling her together, because I had to struggle a bit to get her chest plate and her right arm to fit together.
Most of the photos here are taken with Aperture priority with the flash set on auto mode because I don’t want to lose focus on the figure. I am still working on some continuous lighting setup but with the space I have to work with, doesn’t look very likely at this moment.
I like the flowing dress!
Zooming in for better details of her back.
And of course, the obligatory pantsu shot!

This version of the White princess Saber Lily Gathering version is already sold out at the E2046 website, but it looks like the black version is still available for pre-order. In fact, this version of Saber Lily is done so well that it was featured in one of the modeling magazine in Hong Kong recently. While I don’t necessarily think this Saber Lily Gathering version is better or worst than the yet to be seen GSC Saber Lily or the Alter version, but I think she deserves a place in my collection nonetheless.

To be honest, not my favourite Saber figure ever, but its still pretty sweet. Dig the base too.
I wouldn’t call that my favorite either, just that she is the first Saber Lily to hit the market, and quality is fine. Just about as good as the original sculpture deliver.
I always want to have this but it already sold out very fast, the special edition of her is a must get since this one already sold out XD
Well that goes for 90% of the popular Gathering statues, they are sold out before the preorder period.
Oh ! She is beautiful ! Dynamic and sweet, and I love the base ! Congratulation for this great purchase !

Oh thank you for stopping by Leonia
Yes, I think this version of Saber Lily has her own charm, different from the GSC or Alter version but not necessarily better or worst, just different.
nice Saber Lily, i really like her pose and the flow of the dress too… and the pantsu :3
there are some great selection of resin kits out there but i dont have painting skills and the prepainted ones are always so expensive ;_;
She is definitely nice, so nice that a modeling magazine in Hong Kong had done a feature on her.

I do not possess the necessarily skills to build my own resin either, that’s why I rely on E2046 to do the job for me, got to love division of labor! I do what I do best, and let the rest handled by people qualified for the job!
nice get! ^^
looks like the flash is causing some pretty hard shadows… alas i’m not too familiar with flash photography so i’m not sure what to recommend for diffusing it… one of my friends has some sort of attachment that reflects the built in flash up and back, but that’ll only work if you have walls that will actually reflect the light ^^;
I have noticed the hard shadow too, but I haven’t gotten around to tweak the setting well enough to turn off the flash, hopefully in due time I would be able to overcome that problem.
I think it would look better if they made the armor look a bit more metallic, but I like the black one that E2046 is putting out.
It looks like E2046 and Hobbyfan are both putting out painted versions of KOS-MOS. She looks great but man, I’ve already got one $300 figure on preorder and I might preorder that motorcycle Asuka too.

Well, I think this version of Saber Lily is about as close to the original sculpture as it gets so I have no complain here.
Hobbyfan and E2046 almost always put out the same offering. I am putting pre-order in for Gathering Kos-Mos as soon as it becomes available, I have faith that it will be in the same league as my Gathering Uesugi Kenshin, she is about as flawless as you can get. As for Motorcycle Asuka, she is a classic too, don’t miss out this chance to get her, she is just that good. $300 figure? What’s that?
Daiki Kougyou’s Saber, the one that everyone loves to hate. Technically it’s more like $250 but I figure shipping will push it over the three Cs mark.
I’m definitely going to have to re-check the spreadsheet to see if money is available for Asuka. Fortunately it doesn’t look like there’s a whole ton of stuff coming out in December that I want so I might be able to free up some money for her.

Ahh Daiki Kougyou’s Saber, not exactly my cup of tea, definitely an acquired taste. But I have followed your footsteps to acquire Kotone Ousaka through auction, because I am beginning to doubt Toylet’s ability to fulfill my order, paying more than I really should for a PVC figure but she has too much sex appeal for me to leave it up to a so far not very reliable vendor to deliver.
There will be another dolpa by the end of the year so I am always bracing for more Dollfie Rush nowadays.
Really nice figure, though I’m not digging into the E2046 figures yet. We need more pantsu shots.
I still think GSC’s Saber Lily is the best one atm.
I have little doubt that GSC will be better, just getting this for the Saber Lily rush.
Wow now thats a high Resolution
Who would have guess that shed be the first Saber Lily to hit the market.Looks like an excellent Gathering Job as always

Looks like a decent Gathering yea, but I have my sight set on the 1/4 Gathering Kos-Mos right now
