I don’t know how many of you have noticed but for the past 24 hours or so, this website has virtually gone down due to the web hosting side problem. The DNS server seemed to be in working condition but anything that had to do with the wordpress database has gone down to a crawl and would time out more often than not. I was trying to be a good sport about it and tried to let the web hosting service to fix it by themselves. However, the situation had not improved when I woke up in the morning so I had to put in a support ticket, they responded within 5 hours or so and it seems like the situation had improved a lot since then. At least I haven’t gotten a time out (just yet)!
Anyway, not sure how many of you were expecting this to happen but I have finally made the jump and bought the Nikon D5000 and the 18-105mm lense from B&H online store.
I was assured that the package will be delivered this coming Thursday, so if the weather is nice outside, I would be taking “some” of my Dollfie Daughters out for a spin again!
It’s been a while since I have made any PVC pre-order, perhaps it has to do with my Japan Trip and having seen the Evangelion 2.0 movie and some of the pictures I took for Dollfie Asuka during the Miss Dollfie Summer 2009 pageant contest, I have, once again, renewed my passion for Asuka. I couldn’t find enough Asuka merchandises to buy in Japan and I have been in a frenzy mode to hunt for Asuka goods ever since I came back from Japan.
First we have 1/8 emotion style Shikinami Asuka Langley Movie Ver. PVC from Bandai
I can’t say I have been much of a Bandai figure fan but this figure looks decent enough from this distance and I have that burning lust for Asuka right now so it’s a get!
Then we have the 1/6 Kotobukiya version
And the French maid version that I got canceled on? I found a good deal for her as well, for $35 USD.

I needed a heavy dose of Asuka, I think this should just about to do it when I combined these with my Japan Loots.

1/7 Griffon Airi
I personally think this version of Airi has the most sex appeal out of all the releases out there, and I have always been keen on Airi anyway, so she is a must get for me.
And while I haven’t been a fan of Seena from Shining Wind, the Orchid Seed version of her figure is just too tempting for me to pass on.
Once again, too much sex appeal to pass it on.
Anyway, that’s about it for now. I am expecting the T system version of Saber Lily from Gathering to arrive in the next couple of days, I hope to be able to use the new camera to do a review for her at that time!
Almost forgot, Volks version of Feito is also due to arrive later this week.

I have made various adjustment and improvement in the mean time. I have installed WordPress Super Cache to help with traffic, I have switched my permalinks as well. Hopefully it won’t go down like this again anytime soon.
Yeah, I really love the set of photo I took for Asuka outdoor. I was shocked to see such a beautiful image before me, the shots came out ok I think but I lamented over the fact that what it could have been if I had better equipment, could I produce better photos? So it may be another big investment, but my bar has been raised, I am demanding better clarity (my photos just doesn’t look good enough when zooming real close), higher resolution, more memory, fill-in flash to help me take my Dollfie Photography to the Next Level (start playing Kabuto song!).
Ah, I see you like Asuka too. I liked her too but maybe for a different reason then you do. She has the same personality, confidence, and appearance as a girl I used to like.
Ahem, I see that Volks Fate might be coming out soon? I read something about her release date being pushed back or something. Can’t remember the details. I’ll keep a look out for her in Akihabara this week. Can’t wait to get off this floating shoe box. lol
Well let’s just say the Evangelion was one of the first real anime I saw ever since I came to America, and before that my only other 2D girl was Madoka Ayukawa (that was a long time ago!). Asuka has a very enduring presence, over 10 years and she can still be popular as ever. Yeah, I guess we like her for different reasons. She remind you of your youth

I noticed I couldn’t reach your site the other day while I was bored at work. I had a similar problem a couple months ago with my web provider; they sorta waffled around a bit and never really figured out what the problem was, but at least it went away on its own.
I’m hoping that the Kotobukiya Asuka gets a domestic release since it’d be much cheaper that way. I need to save some money because I’m still thinking about getting that E2046 Asuka on the motorcycle. Man that thing is expensive.

Well I contacted my hosting service and they haven’t gotten back to me as to what had happened. But they have fixed the problem apparently.
I think I got a good deal out of the French maid Asuka, I was tempted to pick her up in Japan but I didn’t do it at the end because that wasn’t my objective in Japan. I had to pick up the Kotobukiya Asuka because I have the burning sensation for Asuka right now, it was like now or never because she was running out in a lot of stores. I guess a lot of old timer like myself came out from the neck of woods to pick her up. Her new T-shirts was pretty charming too, I already picked up several of them! Gosh, I just can’t get enough of her right now! The Gathering Asuka on motorcycle is a real treat I tell you, the bike is very detailed too, the wheels even spin. It’s worth the money for me because I only focus on characters I really like rather than getting whatever that seems good out there, and Asuka is one of top gals.
I dont make many figures posts because my camera really stinks…I still dont know if I can buy one. I want to buy a Lumix…not sure about the Nikon, but your post leave me thinking…How much a good Nikon camera can cost? Lumix are good?
I am still waiting for two figures this year, GSC Saber Lily and Kotobukiya Asuka…but I am afraid if I buy the camera, one must go…
About your website, Yeah, I felt in the past, it was slow…real slow…same thing happened with my site, so I had to switch to Virtual Host instead of shared hosting…a little bit more expensive, but I can afford it for now…

I have heard some good things about the Lumix, but I have never used one myself. Well I have never actually used a Nikon myself but I have grown dissatisfied with the quality of my photos recently so I just have to get one and see for myself if I can really improve the quality of my photos with better gear.
There are several outstanding PVCs for me this year, the alter Saber Lily, GSC Saber Lily, Native Kotone Ousaka, Orchid Seed Nurse Girl Nana. Plus the new addition I added recently, there are quite a few for sure.
Yeah I have noticed my site being on the slow side, I have got a shared hosting right now may be I should consider upgrading as well.
I might get the D5000 at B&H also. All I have to do now is to save up money….And in order to do that I need a part-time job…

Are you going to do a review for the camera as well? I’m looking into, but probably won’t buy until Christmas/New Years, a DSLR as well. I’m thinking about D5000 (or higher) for Nikon or the Canon 50D. Was going to go with XSi or T1i, but my cousin just got the XSi so I don’t want to have a similar camera as her.
Only figure I’m ordering from the list is Koto’s Plugsuit Asuka.
Been a while since I had ordered any PVC, I guess I just can’t get enough of Asuka right now.
I have just received the camera today and will do what I can to review the camera.
