Alright, so I had a good night of sleep and lunch, it’s time to do a proper inspection on the mega loots I received yesterday. As part of the July 4th Independence Day long weekend, I had a day off from work yesterday. I guess it was a coincident that Dollfie Fate and Dollfie Nanoha, one from Volks Japan, another one from Volks USA would ended up arriving on the same day, everything just worked out the way I wanted! The only problem was that the UPS driver didn’t show up until late in the afternoon so I couldn’t start the the inspection until after dinner. Hobby Search came through with a package of their own as well, let’s take a look at them.
Obviously, the main attractions this time are DD Feito and DD Nanoha, but we have also got Feena cushion cover Moonlight Cradle version and a few Cospa cushions which has been out of stock at Hobby Search for some time now.

I am still considering whether I should pick up the Cynthia version just to complete the Moonlight Cradle set, may be, or may be not. But I am looking forward to see a real Cynthia PVC figure though!
With the cushion cover out of the way, let’s get down to the real business, Dollfie Dream inspection!
Feito came in a slightly bigger box since the office uniform doesn’t quite fit inside the DD box. But everything arrived safely!
Let’s take a look at Nanoha, as usual of Volks Japan, they always pack a bunch of bubble wrap to help secure the Dollfie inside the box to avoid accidental damage.
Every one of my daughters came out of their rooms and welcomed Dollfie Fate and Dollfie Nanoha. Now if I have enough Doll stand I would be able to display them properly >.> but Feena definitely has trouble standing on her own because of her high heel >.>;;
Anyway, let’s take a closer look at Feito
Her default dress and wig, plus Bardiche Assault in Scythe form and Zanbar form. And did I mention Zanbar form is huge?
Just by itself it occupy the whole diagonal of an Ikea Lack table. And here is another picture for size comparison. I thought I would throw in a real sword for good measure, I threw in the rest of the Dollfie Dream weapons I have to date including Raging Heart and Excalibur. Excalibur looks like a toy compare to Zanbar form >.>;
I have got to be honest with myself with this, are you listening Volks? Your friction fit design is not working that well, those reactor thingy that goes onto Bardiche doesn’t like to stay on and there is no good way to hold the weapon up after I glue those little pieces in, I need a weapon rack to store the unused weapon.
Ok, let’s go back to Nanoha
Nanoha comes with her default dress and various Raging Heart attachment pieces.

As you can see, the room is far from finish, I have yet to make my way to Ikea for another Dioder set. Both Feito and Nanoha has some trouble balancing on their own and most likely will require a saddle style doll stand which are of course out of stock in Volks USA and Volks Japan.

7 Dollfie Dream in a little over two months, but this allowed to catch up on just about everything that’s been released so far, give or take one or two. I would be looking forward to see who will be getting the Dollfie Dream treatment next, Uesugi Kenshin would be nice, and perhaps Yagami Hayate? Or may be Rider from Fate/hollow ataraxia? Or better yet, Saber Lily! Can’t wait to see who will be coming out in the next dolpa.

U sit in the middle, and u have 2 of ur DD on ur lap, 2 or 4 on ur arms and the rest sitting on ur stomach.

Nah, I won’t be getting any new dollfie until the next dolpa. My room can only accommodate 2-3 more dollfie at most then I will be maxed out… may be… if I can get more free space I could fit another 3-5 of them… no no I got to save space for Saber Lily, Uesugi Kenshin and Yagami Hayate!
Awesome display! How are you actually displaying your Dollfies? Rin is currently standing on my desk wigless (waiting for head cap to arrive). I’d like to think I can keep her there, though may end up looking for something like a protective display enclosure.
My dollfie stay in their own room, I have posted picture of their room before, some are scattered in my flickr account. They do stay permanently inside my dust shield +1, I can’t risk putting them in open air. I keep three of them at most in a 30 X 24 inches area like this:

I might need to get creative. Thinking about getting two more display cases, might pull out one of the middle shelves and have her live in there.
One series that I’ve always thought never got any coverage from figure makers is Angelic Layer. The various Angels from the show or manga would make awesome Figma, Revoltech, or other BJDs… I want a 1/1 scale Hikaru, damnit!
I love my billy bookshelves + dust shield combination, I guess I am the only one who loves my own custom creation lol. If I were to use something like Detolf to store my figures, half of my collection along that wall won’t get dust free coverage, it’s just not as effective for me.

Saber shouldn’t be too difficult to find, plus there is always a possibility of Saber Lily in the future.

I think it’s inevitable that they would eventually make a Rider Dollfie, only a matter of time. You could be proactive and start planning to get her now.
Volks USA had the metal saddle stands back in stock on Thursday. I believe Ed ordered one too.
My Rin from VolksUSA did not come wrapped in bubble wrap like that Nanoha did.
I’m currently researching a plexiglass enclosure to place over Rin so I can just have her on my desk but stay dust free ^^
I checked Volks USA but they only have the straight saddle which isn’t what I wanted. The straight stand be in the way if I want the dollfie to keep their feet together for example Feena. The bended saddle has the metal rod in the back and won’t get in the way as much.
Volks USA don’t use extra bubble wrap, only Volks Japan does that.
My desk is too cram to fit any of them permanently, they would stay inside their room until I need them for photoshoot.
Ah wish VolksUSA followed their JP counterpart. Kinda strange they don’t.
Found a nice site that sells 14.5″ x 30.5″ display cases for just $51. Plenty of room for a Dollfie as 60cm is only about 24″ in height ^^ If I ever get another one I can probably fit her in there too. Slightly cheaper than a detolf but a detolf I can’t sit on my desk XD
Interesting, but my desk is more suited for monitor and electronics, I will keep my dollfie at their designated room :3

Yeah >.> doll stand are expensive too, at least 5000 yen to get a decent one. So I am considering making a DIY stand, just really simple one that will cost next to nothing. So I can feel good about myself lol.

I think you are mistaken, I don’t have any PVC display case. I use a window sealing film to seal off a regular Ikea Billy Bookshelves.
