As we are closing in to the end of June, I would like to spend a little time to reflect on all the pre-order activities that has been going on in the past month. As some of you are already aware of my recent interest in Dollfie Dream, I have been cutting back drastically on pre-order figures and various expenses, however, I have managed to balance out my pre-order list with some cancellation of my original pre-order. Let’s take a look at the addition list first!
The first one that got added to my pre-order list was no one than Saber Lily from E2046 Gathering series, I am quite a sucker when it comes to Saber Lily so when I found out she was ready to be preordered, I wasted little time to put her in my shopping cart! Saber Lily T’s System version is slated to arrive in late August.
The next addition is also a Saber Lily, this time is the Alter version
Even though I already have the Good Smile Company version on pre-order, and the GSC version is argueably more dynamic and graceful, but this Alter version seems to be more true to the original art style as shown in the game. Make no mistake about it, the GSC version is definitely stunning beyond believe, but one can never have too many Saber Lily now, right? Attaching the GSC version Saber Lily for easy reference!
After all the Saber Lilies, it’s time for the 1/4 Fate T. Harlaown bikini version to make her entrance!
Pre-ordering this Feito was a forgone conclusion since I have already had the matching Nanoha figure on her way to me. However, this figure doesn’t look quite as good as I had hoped. I sincerely hope the final production figure will look better than the promotional picture here.
And finally, the mega addition to my family….you guessed it, it’s another Dollfie Dream
I almost feel that I got tricked into getting Nanoha since she was not part of my original plan at all. But after seeing all the possible yuri action shots from the recent Dollfie Day celebration at Dannychoo.com, I just couldn’t help myself any longer. So when I noticed there are only “a few” Nanoha left in Volks International site the other day….. you know, the spur of the moment thing, little did I know that was actually the last Nanoha they have in stock… may be, I guess I will know when they ship her out. Dollfie Dream Nanoha will mark my 7th daughter since May…. let’s hope they don’t multiply as quickly in the coming months! I have just received confirmation from Volks USA that they are sending Dollfie Fate out to me, I am sure she will be very happy to know that Nanoha will be joining her soon.
Ok, that’s enough for addition I think >.>; Now let’s take a look at the chopping block!
Oh, before I forget, for those of you who are interesting in Dollfie Yoko, here is your last chance. Time has been set as July 4th 10:00am Japan time. And no, I am not going to order Yoko >.>;
The first one that got chopped from my pre-order list was Nendoroid Kureha, even though that was not actually my intention, but the store I ordered it from gave me a cancellation notice due to stock shortage. I never really understood the charm about Nendoroid but I was willing to give it a shot at least once, I guess that was not meant to be.
Next up on the chopping block was from the Bible Black series Saeki Kaori & Takahiro Hiroko figure pair from Miyabiya, this one actually got canceled by me after my new found interest on Dollfie Dream Escalayer and her sisters. This figure set is actually quite expensive, over $160 USD on the figure alone, again the money been redirected to Dollfie Dream.
After cancelling the Bible Black figure set, I guess it was inevitable that Black Rock Shooter would also meet the same fate since I wasn’t all that interested in a Miku variation figure anyway >.>;
I suppose if that scar wasn’t there, I might have kept it but it’s a real turn off for me despite the figure overall is still quite impressive. For the good of my Dollfie daughters, BRS was just way too convinent of a target to shoot her down.
Next was totally unintentional, but I have just received confirmation that my pre-order for French Maid Asuka was canceled due to availability >.>; I did consider canceling her to free up some funding but she would have made a great set with my Dollfie Dream French Maid Asuka >.>; Still debating whether I want to pick her up through another store or not.
The last one that got canned is 1/7 Sasara Kusugawa, another store side cancellation. I was actually charged for the figure by Toyslogic since the beginning of the month but the figure never got shipped out and after several emails inquiries, I finally found out that they had messed up with the inventory and didn’t have a figure to ship. They tried to fix the problem by placing another order for her but didn’t get any response from the supplier. And here I though the economy was in a bad shape, I have gotten a string of pre-order cancelation due to supply side issue! Not that I would complain, since I would rather direct the funding towards another Dollfie Dream!

Somehow Nendo just doesn’t sit right with me, it’s too small I think? The jury is still out on Nendo Saber Lily though.
10 Dollfie? Unpossible! The only other 2 characters I am interested right now would be Uesugi Kenshin and Saber Lily, but who knows, may be a few more Alicesoft game heroines would get turned into DD sometime this year.
Shame that Black Rock Shooter got canned; it looked massive ace.
Snark my brother, we are at war here and fighting war means casualty. Black Rock Shooter might have a big gun for PVC figure, but Dollfie Dream Nanoha has a much bigger gun!
I don’t really get the Nendoroid thing either. There seem to be a lot of them though, so I guess people must like them.
That’s too bad about Sasara, I really like that figure. I’m probably going to pick up Griffon’s other Sasara that’s due out next month, although I’m still hesitant about their Ikkitousen figures.
Hobby Search has that Bible Black figure up on sale at like 50% off right now. The BB figure I wanted was the one with the demon pulling Imari through a mirror, but it seems to be sold out at most places now.

The Nendoroid theme must be somehow linked to moe, which I am not a huge fan of. IMHO, moe should be a derivative artwork from fan instead of being a main stream media. Imagine all the Gundam anime got turned into SD instead, oh the horror.
I guess it can’t be helped about Sasara, I was contended to pay for her since she has got down on all four and has cute pose, but I guess she goes to the back burner now.
Really, HS has the Bible Black set on 50% off? That’s huge, am I glad that I canned it on my first opportunity lol. Well even with 50% off, I am still going to pass it since having DD Nanoha and DD Feito making out yuri style is way more important to me now!
I still think Saber Lily from GSC is the best among everyone else, Cream of the crop. I preordered her a long time ago and still waiting for her. I dont even know how you can have almost all versions of her…:P
How much a Dolfie can cost anyway? Enlighten me please…:)I never understood the appeal of Dolfies and they are QUITE expensive, still for some reason, I dont feel attracted to them. Good Lord, hope you dont hate me for this…:P

I agree that Saber Lily GSC version is the cream of the crop, head and shoulder above every other version, but something about white dress, sword, ponytail, adequate among of skin showing without being excessive, the little chest plate, garter belt and stocking is just hitting all the right notes for me. But I will kindly reject the Gift version if they can’t come up with a better face, thank you very much
Regarding Dollfie Dream though, it’s an acquired taste. Most Dollfie we are talking about here are limited release item, and come with their default dress set. Price varies from complexity. Range from Rin for a little over 500 USD to Fate a little over 800, Saber actually cost over 1k USD because of her armor. Difficult to tell another person why they are so appealing to me, after all, I wasn’t interested in them before I started visiting Dannychoo daily. But their shear size and presence (think about your 1/2.5 Rei), their fine hair, the eye depth and facial expression and posability just spell high quality all over the place. On top of that, most limited release dollfie usually appreciate in price as long as they are new, can’t say the same thing for PVC.
1/4 Fate was a given, and I don’t think Asuka is likely to sell out everywhere, I might actually be able to pick her up some other places, someday.
That’s a lot of daughters you’re adopting. It sucks when your orders get cancelled by the stores, that’s why I stick with HLJ for now. But I guess it’s different since you’re in the states and those state-side figure stores offer cheap shipping to you guys.
I would be tempted to get the Yoko DD if I don’t need a new computer, but alas, I need a new computer, so no Yoko for me.
Yeah, cheap shipping was one of the main draw plus they seems to offer a pretty decent deal. Well it turned out all right except for French Maid Asuka, which I can pick up on a later day!
I have always loved large scale figure, just look at Asuka oneesan, I picked her up back in 2003. And on top of that Dollfie Dream is more lively.
I actually had to cancel BRS as well… sad, but I replaced that with a BRS shirt instead XD I had too many on order and I’m running out of money and room FAST! And dammit I forgot to order the Maid Rei >_<
It was just out of curiosity that I pre-ordered BRS, but after a few dollfie dream, I see no reason to waste money on stuff that was barely interesting to me.
Its interesting to read that you canceled BRS because of her scar since it was one of the major turnons besides the gun for me.
There are way too few girls like that ^^
But oh well with all those Dollfies you need to cut back somewhere
