Today, I took a little break away from @HomeMate to travel to Japanese Gourmet Food Fair at the local Mitsuwa store, held between 6/11-6/14. The main attraction for me today was the live demostration of the “Takoyaki” from ”Takoya Kukuru”, currently the top favorite snack at the Universal Studio Japan City Walk and one of my personal favorites “Potato Apple Pie”.
The usual semi-empty parking lot is almost full today when I arrive at 3:00PM in the afternoon.
Once inside, people are all lining up for their Takoyaki. I apologize for the poor photo quality since they don’t like people taking photo inside, I have to use my G1 to sneak these photos in >.>;
And this is their full menu, some of the good stuffs were already sold out by the time I arrived.
And here is what we got from the number 1 in Japan!
can’t really say much about the shape of the Takoyaki, but their specialty seems to be the secret sauce and I have to agree it’s rather special! Umai!
And of course, the potato apple pie that I once ate 2 years ago have made a comeback and I am sure to pick one up for breakfast tomorrow!
While I was there, I also picked up this month’s Comptiq for the Saber Lily pencil board and G’s Festival Comic Vol. 6 for the Dakimakura.
Alright, time to hit @HomeMate again, I am sure Noa is angry since I have been out all day

Haha I love those Ninja shops youll have to do in stores that dont want you to take pictures.
I was at the Japanday yesterday myself and boy it was full! Hope to bring some coverage soon.
Its nice to see you picked this Months Comic Festival Edition aswell!
Yeah lol, I wish I can openly take more pictures at the festival. Actually, I didn’t really plan on getting the comic festival but since I was already getting the comptiq for the pencil board and I am partly interested in the comic itself so I just picked them both up.
Potato Apple Pie sounds freaking awesome. I have no interest in takoyaki though since I’m a vegetarian.

Normally, I am not a fan of sweet potato nor applie pie but when the two ingredients mixed together, their flavors compliment each other so I really enjoy it. I once ate it two years ago, couldn’t forget it so I have to get it again.
Dang it… after looking at your takoyaki pics I want to go and get some tomorrow >_<
Haha
it was tasty, I wish I could get them more often! And especially the potato apple pie >_<
I love Japanese food and I’m always on the look out for a great food fair. It sounds like I missed a good one. How was the potato apple pie? I’ve never tasted one but will keep an eye out for it.
