It's been almost two weeks since I started this Yoake Mae yori Ruriiro na Visual Novel marathon run project which includes the original Yoake Mae yori Ruriiro na Visual Novel (2005) August soft, Yoake Mae yori Ruriiro na -Brighter than dawning blue- (2009) Aria soft and Yoake Mae yori Ruriiro na -Moonlight Cradle- (2009) August soft, it's a massive undertaking that I have never attempted before. But after over a week worth of effort, I am finally getting close to the midway point. This project really started when I redecorated my room with three Feena fam Earthlight Dakimakuras and one bath towel, then all of a sudden I wondered about how much do I really know about her.

I have always heard about how Anime Expo is one of the largest anime convention in North America but I have never once thought about going there myself in previous years. However, the convergence of various factors this year including the chance of meeting some of the friends I have made online at figure.fm, a trip to Volks USA and meeting Danny in person were enough to persuade me to make this journey. So, for this past weekend, I have picked my most pampered Dollfie Dream, DD娃娃 Kiriha Kuze 紅瀬桐葉 to accompany me to Anime Expo 2010 in Los Angeles!

I am just going to say it to get it off my chest, Natsuki Takamizawa (鷹見沢 菜月) deserves more attention than she is getting! Ok, while I don't think Natsuki is in the same league as Feena in terms of elegance and beauty, and she may just be a plain Jane next door neighborhood girl; but she is quite cute in her own rights, I don't understand why there hasn't been a single figure made of her yet.

Ever since the announcement of Dollfie Dream Sasara 久寿川 ささら by Volks a few days ago, I have assigned utmost priority to learn about Sasara's story. Alright, so I finally made it to the new cast on the PS2 port version Estel Freesia. What can I say about her? Estel is quite a tsundere, more than Natsuki (especially after I started her Moonlight Cradle arc) and definitely a tough nut to crack! I am going to try a slightly different approach and compact her story a bit more, Feena's story was way too long and I probably had way too much details in the last writeup.

A few days ago, I welcomed my Sixteenth Dollfie Dream Daughter DD娃娃 人偶 Matou Sakura to my family; and I had Saber, Rin and Ecchi Lion came out to gave Sakura a warm welcome; but that was not all that I had in mind! The number sixteenth daughter also mark the completion of a Platoon!! Since such a significant milestone cannot be ignored or overlooked.... so I have decided to summon all of my daughters together for a full family portrait (it's been a while since I did the last family photo)! Been quiet for the past couple of days, but I finally started to feel better for the past day so I decided to catch this chance to go out with my Dollfie Daughters again. The main objective this time was to correct a few oversights I had in the last outing so I had to take DD Asuka アスカ and DD Rin 遠坂 凛 out again, but that would be a tad too dry just to keep taking photos of those two so I decided to take DD Saber out with me as well.

It's been another intense camera action day as I have a lot on my agenda. The first order of business is to have two of my lovely daughters to try out the two of the most adorable maid dress set from Kyoto 7, Sasara School Swimsuit Maid and He is My Master Maid Dress set. There is no argument for who should wear the School Swimsuit Maid, but there was room for debate for the He is My Master Dress set, I finally decided to have Kiriha model for us, why Kiriha? Because she is my most pampered daughter! There will be some hints of yuri action here and there in this photo session, as I finally come to term to fulfill the promise I made way back to take some yuri photos for my daughters XD. It was only a matter of time before I put two of my most favorite Dollfie Dream daughters DD Saber Lily セイバー・リリィ and DD Kiriha Kuze 紅瀬桐葉 together for a full photo shoot, the pictures from the New Year Greeting post were merely a preview of what was probably a fact that was waiting to happen; I wouldn't put it past some of you who regularly visit my blog that this was already in the work ^^; What kind of photo shoot would I put together for my most favorite daughters the more mature and sexy Lily and together? Well, I actually tried to throw in a mixture of themes this time, involving the sexy, sisterly love and some light yuri perhaps =3.
Dollfie Dream Saber X Buckingham Palace
How long has it been since I acquired the cloak for Saber? Hmm ever since Airi arrived? Yeah, I been wanting to do a Saber solo shoot out for that long, but laziness and procrastination delayed it for this long! Errr, not really, I was busy with other stuff and had the lighting setup packed away and didn't pull them back out until just recently. Anyway, I been wanting to do this shoot out with Saber standing in front of the Buckingham Palace and I have finally done it! I think I managed to pack a few pretty good shots in there, hopefully you would enjoy them as much as I did :D

It’s too early to tell yet, but it’s true I am motivated to bring Rin home with me. I still don’t think I am a big BJD fan, but they might look different when they are fully clothed. I always thought Saber Alter Dollfie is extremely adorable, too bad I totally miss out on her. I am still debating within myself though ^^;
I hope ur willing to make sacrifices because it will make a big hole in ur wallet.

Aye, thanks for your kind words Optic, I am all too aware of the “slippery slope”. But my motto has always been like this, “If I have to spend more money, I will just have to make more!” Traditionally, it has always been the drive me to work harder, and work harder. Not having the need to spend money has the adverse effect of draining my motivation or staying put, because I don’t need more than what I have. I will just need to come up with a new revenue stream to support this if I do presented with a chance to buy it.
Wah…I wish I could get the Ilya Dolfie.
But I think it’s too late. Oh well

These dollfies become collectors’ item really quick, the only way to go about it is to look forward. I wish I had got my hands on the DDD Escalayer too, but I was too late also. Here is hoping when Volksusa make their delivery, there will be more available forcing the price on auction sites to go down a tad, I am not paying a 40% premium for these.
I’m giving some thought to trying to pick up Rin too, but I think the cost is going to rule that out for me. I am man enough to admit that I have no problems with playing with dolls, but man, $500 is a lot of scratch to drop, even on something as worthy as a two feet-tall doll.

Dollfie is indeed a lot of money to drop, and I have never actually hold one of these in my hands so I have no idea what it will feel like when it’s viewed up close. In this particular case, I think I am just standing by my own words about Rin needing more love, the chance is right here and soon. I am still regretting over the fact that I missed out on DDD Escalayer because of my ignorant, so that’s another motivation on top of it.
Dollfies are really nice, but they’re out of my league for now. Not sure if I’ll ever get one, but they’re definitely not on my radar now. They’re cute, but I think dollfies don’t capture the hair that well. I was surprised at how good Saber actually looks.
Hey twu, you hit the nail right on the head there. We share the same opinion in this matter. Saber and Saber Alter have tied up hair style, may be that was the key point. Dollfie Fate wig unfortunately don’t resemble her anime counter part, and even Dollfie Rin was somewhat marginal at best. Certain hair style seems to look better than others.
Dollfies are too big and way off my buying power. When it comes to larger-scale figures (say, 1/6), I’m more of a military figure kind of guy. Still, it would be nice to break off from the common theme I’m in, as long as it’s still 1/6. I have plans to adopt the mecha musume design to 1/6 in the future.
Greetings Hangmen, yea Dollfie would be kind of big and expensive, I am still tossing the idea around. Though I do plan to bring one home at least just to say I have one.
