A few days ago I got an email from E2046 about a share your kit progam, I read on and found out they are interested in collecting out of production resin kits and bring them back to life! And in the process give you a little commission back. I pondered for a while and think about may be I should bust out my Realize Original Kit No.33 1/4.5 Asuka! She was first featured on a Hobby Japan Extra 1998 Spring.
Personally, I think this is the one of the most provoking provocative Asuka (without being ecchi) ever made, then again it’s just my own opinion! At the time, there was no online store carrying her, so I had to use a proxy service to get her. Think about it, she is already 11 years old today orz.
I actually have 2 copies of this kit, why 2 copies? Because the first one arrived with a slight damage to some parts of her.
Here I attempted to fix her broken hair
If you pay attention here, her index finger was also broken upon arrival, but I attempted to glue it back.
Eventually, my lack of concentration and lack of skill forced me to abandon this project….
A few years later, one of the online store Rainbow Ten suddenly have inventory of her so I quickly snatched another copy of the kit (I never knew when to give up!).
Right around 2002-2003 may be, I got hooked on pre-painted resin kits and their quality isn’t bad at all is amazing. Here is one of my finest example:
The Sailor Saturn Musical-The first goddess
After a few more transactions with the store, my confidence grew with them. Eventually, I decided if I can’t build my beloved Asuka kit myself, I should delegate the task to someone who is more capable! (Ahhh the power of delegation, love it!) So I decided to ask them to custom paint the Asuka for me. And here is the result.
Picture was taken with a 1/4 Polystone Rei back in 2003, but that’s not important!
I already submitted my share your kit program entry for Asuka, here is hoping that E2046 will take her and once again breathe life into one of the finest Asuka resin kit ever produced!

Wow, you have a deep history on figure collecting; That’s what I call a master level figure collector!
I’m quite interested on how you take care of your girls – Although your Asuka is 11 years old, she still looks gorgeous! Will look forward for you to post a “How to take care figures FAQ” in the future.
My first resin kit dated back in the mid-80s lol, though there are only fragments of her remains…
The painted Asuka is only about 7 years old, but I don’t think she has aged a day! I don’t know if it’s a secret or not, but it is my believe that paint will go through oxidation if they are left expose to free air. Oxygen is extremely active and will react with just about everything, so my plan has always been to keep the oxygen out of my collection as much as possible, with little free air circulating, dust is also minimized.
I didnt know that you are such an oldie in the figure scene! Thats amazing!
Thanks for sharing your kit with the world!
Thanks for stopping by again Blowfish!
Oldie huh, I guess I am one of those lol. It’s true that I been collecting figurines for quite a long time, just that I have never shown any of my collection on the Internet before I started my own blog 2 months ago. This Asuka is from one of my all time rare collection, though I am not sure how many people wanted to see her recasted since there aren’t many responses on the forum yet.
